Best kept secret in AC line filtering conditioning
Is no A/C line filtering is necessary.

“80 is too young.” On what planet?
Audio deals you bought that seem impossible for the price?
Back in AG’s prime, circa 2003, I bought a pair of Martin Logan Monolith III’s here for $900. The speakers were absolutely mint. I also bought a pair of Balanced Audio Technology VK1000 mono blocks for $2000! The days of great deals here are long ...

I remember all of those who complained about the time involved using a VPI 16.5. If it takes that much work is it worth the time?
Do you all agree when Prince said the 60s, 70s and 80s were the golden ages of music?
Okay fellas, I listened to the band’s 1968 and 1969 LPG’s on YouTube. Being a Motown and jazz guy I wasn’t inspired by any of their tunes. And why were they playing previously published hit tunes by other rock artists? I didn’t find any reference ...

@shtinkydog, I added NOS RCA 5691’s, Genelex KT88’s, and Psvane CV-181’s. Total cost of $600 for tubes and $1200 for the amp. Superb tube sound on the cheap. There’s hundreds of positive reviews from buyers. There’s lots of members of audio forums...

I don’t spend a dime on power conditioning. I paid an electrician to install 8 direct connections from my room to the junction box. That was good enough, and I have zero sound issues. To me this is like power and speaker cables - Snake oil.
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s.
@zerofox, your comments are spot on!!! You’d think with global warming there’d be such a movement of songwriters. Mums the word. Remember in 1971 Marvin Gaye sang about Ecology? Well, that’s now come to pass, and still not a word. What the heck do...

But check this out. Who was Prince? He was the son of jazz musicians. He could play everything. He gets my vote for one talented musician!

@bdp24, yes and Jamerson’s playing What’s going on while drunk and lying on his back is legendary. But Jamerson was a solid jazz player who played upright bass on a lot of Motown tunes. And what I meant was players of Motown actually used syncopat...

@ms59, yes, even a group called the Mamas and the Papas had mega hits. Where’s the next California Dreamin?

@michaelsherry59, I feel it’s laughable to suggest one can simply listen to the music and identify with the times. That’s like how many steps removed from the actual experience? No. If you wanted to experience the music you had to experience the s...

I’m about a 90 percent jazz listener. I’ve 42 years as an audiophile. I’m a jazz pianist, having played trumpet, bass. and sax. I purchased a KT88 integrated that is 22 watts triode and 45 watts pentode. My speakers (planers) are 93dB efficient. I...

@bdp24, I’m not suggesting there’s no rock guys who played jazz. But not all jazz players had equal talent. Jazz, like Motown, was black music. Jazz was created by blacks, The finest jazz players  were blacks. Bebop, the highest musical form of ja...
