I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s.
@bdp24, no disrespect but there will never be the number of hit records there were between 62’ and ‘75. Observe the number of Motown’s hits. Black music today no longer contributes to pop hits, when in the 60’s it did. If you have to search for a ...
Do you all agree when Prince said the 60s, 70s and 80s were the golden ages of music?
He was one heckuva guitar player. He played many instruments. And he’s absolutely right. Why? What era has as many actual hits? And he’s referring to Motown too, for he grew up on Motown. And besides being surrounded by great songwriters Motown’s ...

If you were born in 55’, as I was, it was a truly special time. Color TV and home computers had yet to be invented. Who remembers watching Gunsmoke on Sunday nights on a BW television. Much of the music created in my generation was dictated by the...
The best room upgrade: $2250
Florida sounds like *ell! Why would anyone want to live there?
Speaker Road Trip
It’s tough to beat Martin Logan’s, imo. Maggie’s with the right subs are very good as well. Martin Logan’s of today don’t need subs. Boxed speakers rule audio, but that’s because there are so many more of them. But we’ve all got biases. Mine rest ...
More watts or better power ?
If you’ve a small room what is it do you feel your 50 watt Class A amp isn’t providing? I’m in a small 10 x 15’ room. I’m driving Martin Logan Summits with a 45 watt tube amp. I’ve grateful to find bliss in a small room.
Get a load of this Deceptive add for a Gryphon Amp here on AG
I’ve been here since 1997 when AG began. It’s my understanding they’ve always  taken the position that we’re only owners, and you’re on your own. So tread lightly.
List your breakthrough products that you’ve discovered on this audiophile Journey.
Breakthrough? I’ve been at this for 46 years. If there was one I’ve forgotten all about it. But I’ve been a Martin Logan owner/fan since 1980. That’s over 40 years of different ML’s. And I’m still enjoying the ride. If you can’t find one thing to ...
What Integrated Amp do You use
@millercarbon, you’re so fortunate to have the foresight to acquire a Melody amplifier. I’ve always wanted one, but didn’t have the vision to acquire one when they were affordable. They went from barely $2k to $10k! Good for you!
What Integrated Amp do You use
A Willsenton kt88 with 4 Gold Lion kt88’s, 3 Psvane CV181’s, and 2 Tungsol 6SL7 tubes. $1250 for the amp delivered. 45 watts in ultra linear, and 22 watts in Triode. Sublime!
Quality Motown Recordings
Remember the main format that Motown was recorded on was vinyl. Check your used record store for Motown vinyl and invest into a solid record cleaner like the VPI 16.5 to clean up those records. Motown on vinyl will reveal all the dynamics you’re s...
The BEST music track you've never heard!
I left a YouTube link.
Jazz for aficionados
@rok2id, I had that on vinyl in the early 80's. But since it was a smaller label release it never made it to CD in the states. I believe Japan released it in the 2000's. Great album! And yes, On A Clear Day was a true standout on that record!
