English made integrated: Onix, Cyrus, Sudgen, Naim. These little guys seems to like lower to mid power with lots of damping factor and solid current. They also liked my VTL Tiny Triodes at only 25wpc/triode.Cables, might try the Signal Cable, they...
Fanfare FM-2G-C antenna
I'm not using the 'college band', have the regular Fanfare. The ccrane Reflect will beat the Fanfare for directional use. So if you have a station or stations coming from the same direction this is the best alternative and is more easily hidden th...

VTL 85 IT perhaps. Lots of current.

help me build a system for $1200
Keep Cambridge and NAD, add Adcom 600 or Assemblage 1.0 DAC for $150, Spendor SE used at $700, do some nice stands and Signal Cable PCs and wire. Done.

Hafler 120 was best made by Hafler, never heard it modded though. It will beat all of the aforemetioned sonically. GAS Grandson by James Bigiorno was his best older amp, then he moved on to SUMO which is strong sounding but a bit harsh. Amber was ...
sonographe 120, is it worth having?
This is a slow amplifier with large tube bloom. If you like that sound then go for it. The GAS equipment you are running now is fairly harsh sounding, but quick with lots of amperage. You might consider a Hafler 120 which is quicker than the Hafle...

I sold them back in the early 80s, decent preamp, amps were a better buy, but respectable.
Computer-based Multichannel
I'm lost here. I appreciate those who practice the art of active and passive listening on different levels, but when did it all become so quantitative and techno. Are there survivors and practitioners in the realm who actually load a disc or caref...
