Which Jazz Albums are similar to Kind of Blue
Don't know if you are enamored by Miles' style of play or genre of jazz. As far as style, check out Howard McGhee, Clifford Brown and Chet Baker for similar styles of playing with a coolness. As far as era of music it is endless with some of the t...
looking for an inexpensive dvd player
The $50-70 Toshibas that Costco sells are stupidly great sounding. You can even add a DAC (optical/coax) to improve them. Really, they are that good.

Doug Seigel at Audio Specialties, Portland, OR is very decent. 503 257 3206. Call and ask, very competent as he also runs a used only store so has seen about everything.

The Audioquest will work fine. The Atoms like a decent speaker stand (steel) with a little mass. Buy some poster board putty ($1.50 Office Depot), break up the putty and roll into balls with your hands, place a ball at each corner of the top plate...
What portable CD player do you recommend?
iRiver makes great discman type players. Truly surprising and one with an optical out. Read review on headphones.com.
