B&W 802 S3 vs. Nautilus 803 or 804's Sugarbrie, what $1,800 speaker do you like better than N804? I have found speakers I like better but they start at $4,800.
Epos M12 as a replacement ??? Epos don't have the most dynamic sound. Owners at AA have complained about a nasality issue I think due to reverb inside the cabinet. Creek / Epos is not commonly called hard sounding and actually NHT seem brighter so I don't know about finding th...
Opinions Please? But is Proceed label still being sold? Don't think so.
ATC SCM12 and 50wpc Manley Stingray? How about the smaller SCM-7's. Also $1,000 vs. $2,100. Note: the old SCM-10's were $1,700 so the 12's cost more, not less.
+++Magnum Dynalab MD-208 Reciever+++ Rotel also has an RX-1050 100 wpc receiver which is smoother than NAD. Not as good as Sim Celeste but it's only $799. Krell also used to make a receiver - was one for sale here a week or two ago.
nad 370 upgrade I like the older Musical Fidelity 150 wpc A300(?) integrated. Newer M-F and Arcam is too harsh IMHO, especially if you think Paradigm tweeter is bright but bass is better. Creek may be okay but lacks power. LFD is distorted but you may like - it c...
Tweeter hiss? I don't get any hiss until my volume is at 11:00 or so. The hiss is the noise floor of your system. I agree it's your amp, doubt an NAD would be much, if any, better.
Amp/Int. Amp to smooth the highs... Adding a resistor may cause additional problems. People at Madisound know a lot about this subject but I think a resistor will change the crossover frequency. It can also cause phase distortions unless you add an inductor in parallel with the resi...
Floorstanders on wood floor, help Are you sure its not your amp or other component IYS?
Who has the oldest speakers? Ever hear of Hartley's? 16 ohm / 18" woofers. Not mine though.
Amp/Int. Amp to smooth the highs... Try an Audio by Van Alstine FET valve.fet valve 550exReveiw by tyson, you'll have to look under reviews:look under reviews
Let's forget about being politically correct Good link Rgodin. Interesting part in the article:". . .the entire circuitry of the PRe1 (plus the complexity of the second Acoustic Zen Silver Reference interconnect with its two RCA jacks) amounted to no more sonic influence than one high-qualit...
Wyetech, thoughts comments on amp. Eralff have you talked to Coby at Hi Fi Logic in NJ? He has all Coincident speakers running with Atma sphere amp. Also the full line of Coincident cable.
Integrateds - Revisited Yet Again I thought I5 brighter that Musical Fidelity A3.2 int. with latest AP Virgo II (or III?). The older M-F A300 ($1,000 used) sure doesn't sound bright to me but would in comparison to EC stuff I guess. A-300 would be a good choice for budget int. Con...
Let's forget about being politically correct Crazy4blues, Crosby, Stills and Nash can. At least I think that was the group. Who knows, I only play music when deciding which component to buy. |
