Flat frequency response
roxy54 Thanks !   erik_squires Where did you take Speaker Design 101? Is there a particular author / engineer whose course or book on speaker design you are referring to? You make a good point. I have not seen flat FR as a design goal in an...
BEST CD TRANSPORT
charles1dad   Good points. In the case of Pro-ject, an interesting experiment would be compare the DS2T withe external p-s to the stock Rs2T.
BEST CD TRANSPORT
Just keep in mind some really expensive transports (and DAC's) use junk wall-wort p-s and you will need to buy an extra box to get a real power supply.
Can "Dark"Sounding Speakers Be "Brightened"UP???
Just a thought but can you make the cabinet "bigger"? Maybe take out some of the stuffing? I once made a speaker with a cabinet that was too big (like 2x too big) and the sound was bright. Filling it up with blocks of wood, the sound became darke...

A rare opportunity (or at least I think it's rare)

How rare is an audiophile
Judging by the number of cars I hear with pretty good to excellent sound and the number of car stereo dealers. . . . plus people in Ebay who collect vintage gear, etc. . . . plus people into hi-res formats. . . . plus home theater. . . . it has sh...
Advice on how to liquidate system
So sorry about this. Can your hearing problem be helped by increasing volume (like hearing aid)? I would be patient and give it a year before deciding anything. Not sure if you have the same symptoms but I know someone who suffered hearing loss f...
Top two most important sound qualities
@kota1 Thanks for showing up. I was trying to explain your system "immersion" concept when making suggestion on how to achieve. @edgewear Even from a distance and without visual contact you simply ’know’ when they’re playing live. Well said....
