Favorite moment with music in your car.
Best memory is before I could afford a stereo, other than my clock radio, the car was all I had. So I’d go out in the garage and crank the hell out of it. Sort of like my first home stereo will balls. Second was in the city and cranking the hell ...
little big win
@grislybutter Will she keep them, upgrade, end up a pile in the corner. become a life member of "the asylum"? So what speakers did you get her?   Jamming to Chai ウォーキング・スター
Audiophilism is a hobby
If a hobby doesn’t matter and is something just done for fun, not a necessity, then everyone here could give up their stereo, go back to a clock radio and be happy? Or maybe we should all just sit around a camp fire and sing songs. I'll bring the...

Getting into the music
My best stereo consists of Creative Labs SBS250 speakers, Sound Blaster 16PCI card, and music on YouTube. Why is it my best stereo? First because it sounds pretty good. But more importantly because I NEVER think about anything but the music. Even...

What if a high end speaker measures really badly?

Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama
Is audio one of those products that needs to be "sold"? Meaning is it the hype from reviews and salesmanship that gets people to buy? If you don't scream loud enough will anyone pay attention? Likewise, if there starts to be a lot of negative pres...
Ideal Qualities of a CD/SACD Transport
Not defective out of the box for starters.
What if a high end speaker measures really badly?
Zu is a popular speaker that doesn’t measure that great. And they do not threaten to sue people about it either.
Finally after 7 years of search... Full Range: Voxativ.
Imaging pretty good also. Oh no. . . .  only "pretty good"? haha
Benchmark Media Systems. Right or wrong
IMHO, while cables make a small difference, I like the fact that as you move up the line (Audioquest) the sounds gets better in all ways and not just good in some ways / bad in others. Upgrades in speakers and electronics often have trade offs an...
