| is it safe to clean records with isopropanol ? So what does isopropyl alcohol do that a mild soap / detergent solution doesn't? When I want to remove grease, dirt, slime, residues and other contaminants, I use soap and water and rinse with clean water. What does alcohol do better. | |

| 12" Tonearm What Have You Heard & Recommend? VPI JMW-12 on an Aries 1 Extended. It's a very nice arm with VTA on-the-fly. Easy set-up and operation. Used it with an AT-OC9ML and Clavis da Capo. Very satisfied. | |

| Does 21g seem high for effective tonearm mass? IMO, the classification of low, medium and high mass arms seems a bit arbitrary. The goal should be to match a given cartridge compliance with the effective arm mass. Plenty of calculators around to help in matching. | |
