Nude Turntable Project
Halcro, Thanks for that amazing review. It leaves no question in my mind as to and performance detail.
Subwoofer with good monitors
It can be very difficult to integrate an aftermarket subwoofer. Timing and phase mean a lot and weaknesses in either work their way into higher frequencies. I have a pair of DIY sealed box subwoofers that give me in-room response down to 10hz or l...
tube phono stage upgrade
If you can find one, IMO the Herron VTPH-1 will smoke anything else in that price range new or used.

Pods look great! Excellent multi-arm set-up. Very kewl. Could you post what carts are being used on which arms? Do you have a "modern LOMC" on one of the arms for comparison to the mm/mi carts?
Classical music for newbie
There are some good Reader's Digest collections. Shoot for stereo. Some of my favorite collections include "Festival of Light Classics," "Music of the World's Great Composers," and "Treasury of Great Music." Most of the recordings used very good c...
Best TT and cartridge combo used under $1500?
I agree with the system described by Grinnell. As an alternative to the V15, depending on the rest of the system, an AT-OC9MLII (if the preamp can handle the low output) or an AT-150MLX if the system not capable of handling mc carts.
Jelco SA750 D optimal cartridge alignement
According to the alignment calculator on VinylEngine, the Jelco recommended geometry puts the null points about an inch in from the outer adge and then just before the inner runout grooves. There are other geometries that will work with minimum ch...

Yes, Jelco made the AQ and Sumiko arms. I have an FT-3 and it was pretty good once I applied the arm wrap from the Sumiko Analog Survival Kit. Works quite well with an AT-OC9ML.

Jelco arms resemble vintage equipment. The SA-750 comes in a 12" version that would overcome the spindle-to-pivot issue. I'm currently playing with a SA-750D (9" version) that sounds pretty good with a Lyra Clavis Da Capo.
Best phono amplification for my setup ?
My personal preference is for Herron electronics. There is a very good line stage with a phono input option. I have not heard it myself but it's supposed to be quite good. I've used Herron equipment for a long time with a VPI HW-19 MK3, FT-3 and a...
Nude Turntable Project
At least you have the wherewithall to understand what you need and how to get it. Go for it, it's a great project!I'm watching with interest and have similar thoughts about trying a nude direct drive table set-up.
Best phono stage amp for rega P5?
If it works good for you, then that's all that counts.
Best phono stage amp for rega P5?
Herron VTPH-2.
How important is Cartridge Overhang? Need help
It sounds like the arm was positioned using effective length from spindle to pivot instead of spindle-to-pivot length (eff. length minus overhang).
Need some help with setting up a Lyro Delos
Change the Project II SE setting to MC, keep it plugged into the AUX input and start with the volume turned down on your pre-amp. Work it up to a normal listening level. That should get you close.
