Solid core phono interconnect - Recommend Please Pani - Try contacting Keith Herron directly. He is very approachable and great to work with.
Newb on the loose Additional mass can be added to the arm to help stabilize a low compliance mc cart. The AT OC9/II LOMC will work on the arm. It has a higher compliance that other LOMC carts. IMO, the compliance is higher than stated. YMMV.
Newb on the loose Dynavector and Benz have some decent HOMC carts.
Solid core phono interconnect - Recommend Please I've been using Herron Audio interconnects with very good results. Fluid and transparent. No filtering. No peakiness like with silver. No bloated sound. Just very smooth and detailed. Just the music.I can't say if they are prone to RF or other noi...
Advice on phono pre Pbnaudio - you wouldn't have a conflict of interest with the B2B-1 would you?
Advice on phono pre I've been using a Herron VTPH-2 for a while. I haven't heard anything as good, nothing better. Prior to the VTPH-2, I was using a VTPH-1mc. It was excellent, but not up to the VTPH-2. As I said, I haven't heard anything as good as a VTPH-2. The VT...
Turntable Setup by Ear? The best set-up is the one removing as many variables as possible. Using a protractor and digital scale will leave VTA as the variable. That is more reliable and faster than guess work.Digital scale (reliable enough for our purposes) from DealExtr...
For VPI Unipivot Owners, do you use antiskating? I have a JMW-12. It doesn't have anti-skate and I do not attempt to put any torque into the leads to create anti-skate.
Herron M1-1A monobocks, what do you think? Mitch2 - What amps were those?
Herron M1-1A monobocks, what do you think? I use the Vibrapod cones under the VTPH-2 and VTSP-3Ar02 chassis pointing up. I have not removed the stock feet. Biggest improvement came with the phono stage but the pre-amp was better, too. The Vibrapod cones are free standing, no studs coming o...
Herron M1-1A monobocks, what do you think? I also have the entire Herron set-up (VTSP3Ar02, VTPH-2, one pair M1-1A, one pair M-150, all Herron cables), except for digital. The M1-1A amps are wonderful and a great match for upstream components. I have not had a problem with low impedance sp...
Yet another contender for my Klyne 6PE: ARC PH5 DAniele - Contact Herron (Keith Herron) and ask about used units, even a VTPH-1. I have not heard ANY ARC phono stage that bests Herron phono stages.
Hurst motor rumble? I've never thought about "dropping the needle" onto anything that didn't have some kind of spiraling groove toward the center of the turntable. My tastes in music don't venture out that far. If the noise doesn't happen during playback, who cares?
Rega arm vs Sumiko Rega 250 arm? Good for toasting marshmellows. MMTs are for playing vinyl.
Entry level Phono Stage for Dynavector 10x5 Maybe try to find a used Herron VTPH-1. It is an excellent phono stage compared to other used unit in that price point, significantly better than anything new at that price point. Or just pop for a Herron VTPH-2 and not worry about upgrading the p... |
