What after a Lyra Delos, if any ? I'd be interested in reading how much better an AT Art-9 is than a Delos.
Good, better, best. VPI Classic 1 accessories and upgrades. Of your list, get the SDS. Live with it for a while. Then get the periphery ring. Rather than VPI feet, some people report very good results with StillPoints, 3 of them, under the table rather than anything else. Bearclaws also seem to produce ver...
I just returned my second defective Manley Chinook I can't believe a manufacturer would release a unit that couldn't even be transported without arriving with problems. Twice. Sell the Manley. Get a Herron. It works very well with most equipment. Get a Herron and get off the upgrade merry-go-round...
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there? Pryso - agreed. And results will probably vary by cartridge.
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there? The VTPH-2 can be loaded externally. There is a provision for external loading on the back of the unit near the MC inputs.
Which phono preamps among these three? Ihcho - The Herron VTPH-2 has different gain options. You should call Keith Herron to see if one of the options fits what you need.
Which phono preamps among these three? I'd call Keith Herron. There's no predicting what could happen.
Phono stage w/automatic Load-Impedanance. No contradiction. Bottom line is how it sounds. No sense in defeating the sound by compromising the components or defeating good components in the chain.
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there? By the way, I'm NOT Keith Herron, though I do must certainly have known him for at least 20 years.
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there? I'm not using a SUT with my VTPH-2 / AT OC9/II combo. I don't think I'm missing anything.
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there? Getting back to the OP question, I think it depends on the signature of the individual components and the component matching. Your integrated amp has an input of 100k ohms. That is sufficiently high to allow upstream components to drive it without...
First in line... "How did I know you were going to say that? The minute someone mentions price, they turn into a snob. "Because you made a point of talking about price and being critical of equipment because it didn't cost a lot, cost didn't measure up to your pri...
First in line... Properly set up, the OP's analog front end is VERY good. There is not much to be gained. However, there is a lot that can be gained downstream. Who cares about price but audio snobs? It's performance that counts.
First in line... Infection - There's nothing wrong with the 33EV, the arm and cart are top drawer. Your analog front end is not the problem. That said, you might hear what you're looking for with a step up in electronics, particularly in the phono stage and pre-am...
Any Herron VTPH-2 Phono Stage Owners out there? Lewm - If you live in the midwest, you're welcome to bring over your phono stage or maybe a loaner to compare. But something tells me you live in the Bay area (or I'm confusing you with another "Lew"). |
