Gustard R26 ladder DAC sound signature - comments?
@audphile1 I have tried it in 3 different systems and didn't have any problems with synergy. 2 systems, relatively new and one that would be considered vintage. No issues with it at all. I have also used both single ended and balanced as the conne...
Are You a Swifty?
@simao Exactly. For many she speaks to them. To these old crusty ’audiophiles’ they don’t get it. They basically have turned in their parents (many of them are and grandparents). Evey generation does the same thing to the new music that comes out....
Gustard R26 ladder DAC sound signature - comments?
@audphile1 My R26 is not dark. I know others who own the same unit. That is not their description of the sound. I suspect a faulty unit. Buying from Amazon can be a crap shoot as some resell products returned. I bought mine from Shenzhen audio dir...
Benchmark Media Systems. Right or wrong
There is more snake oil in the audio industry than about any other industry. Why? Because many audiophiles think music is special. When we listen, it engages our emotions and memories. Much of the hearing differences can be attributed to ’the plac...

I am only using USB, but there a few updates to fix that, I think. The latest is v1.42.
Benchmark Media Systems. Right or wrong
Not wrong. Just read all the threads on A'gon. All one needs to know.

I have had my R26 for a year and it is the EXACT opposite of what you describe. I also compared to the Denafrips - which went back because the mids sounded congested.   You are also unfairly comparing it to your super modified DAC - compare it t...
Should Speaker Manufactures provide a Frequency Response Graph?
@seanheis1 Actually, Erin wrote to Eric to ask questions BEFORE he reviewed the speakers. So, Eric KNEW it was happening. Erin was above board on this.
Should we care if a piece of equipment comes from a pet-free, kid-free, smoke-free home?
Yes, I bought a amp from a smoking - cat home and I had to vacuum all the cat hair out of the amp (cat slept on the amp). It still had issues and had to be cleaned by a tech friend of mine. The smoke literally cakes up on connections, etc.
Revel Performa3 Cabinet Defect
It does happen from time to time - sorry to hear. My M126Be's are great looking and sounding speakers.
Mark Levinson Has Saved Me And My MUSIC!!
How is MQA doing it for you? This video is exactly the same BS. If you like, wonderful, but don’t push the nonsense that is this video. I mean this guy wrote a book about women’s ...., with his ex-wife.
Mark Levinson Has Saved Me And My MUSIC!!
@mahgister  I know that. He was sued because one could get the exact same equipment for 1/10 the price he was selling the same equipment minus the brand name he used. Remember, John Curl designed most of his equipment when he sold it. He was not a...
Mark Levinson Has Saved Me And My MUSIC!!
The video makes no sense. I have watched several times.   This is the gent who bought Chinese made equipment, slapped a different name on them and tried to charge an arm and a leg for them. Enjoy
I see the issue with ABX blind testing
@mahgister Sorry - it is not 'Pop-psychology' it is based on what has been learned from studying animals and humans. If you think that, sorry.
