300B SET Amp driving Wilson Sabrinas
@vonhelmholtz or taking out the poster's bias. I totally agree with you. I have heard SET with Maggies, and it sounded OK. Bass control is bad on SET's and that is why they were just OK. People, this is a hobby, it isn't life and death.
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama
Amir does have an obvious slant, but measurements are important in making buying decisions. Hence, why all the flowery wordsmiths of the main audiophile press, I ignore. I make the decisions with MY EARS, not theirs. I have watched all the videos...
AXPONA 2024
Treehouse Audio to me sounded like a transistor radio. Not pleasant at all. I preferred the Martin stand mounts to the floor standers in 1544.  NONE of the Magico's sounded good at all to me.  The GTT room was probably one of the best sounding ...
Best for Classic/Progressive Rock and Blues
Your Thiels need way more juice than your NAD can dish out. In fact, you can damage either, since the Thiels do dip to 1.6 ohms.   Get a pair of old Advents and be done.
If you have a nice system why do you really need room treatments?
No such thing as a system, including the room, that doesn't need some help. Whether it is DSP, or treatments, it helps.
Anyone else order Caladans from Clayton Shaw?
He was at AXPONA. So that can be an issue. I heard these speakers at AXPONA, colour me not impressed at all. YMMV.
Are You a Swifty?
@tylermunns disingenuous question. I am sure she will After all, musical sensibilities have changed and Beyonce and Taylor are the best selling artists. Also have way more awards. I won't be alive so I care not one whit.
Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
@simonmoon They are about measurements - not really listening. But subjective reviews are like opinions, everyone has one. Hence, I trust my ears not the reviewers. You don't like ARS fine, I am mediocre on them, but measurements are important. ...
People complain about lack of bass, not enough mid range. Solution?
No not al all. One designer was Joe Ackroyd (who worked for Goodmans, Wharfedale, and designed the first Rega speakers the ELA also Royd Audio). He was one that said absolutely no difference.   They did try it. The arrogance is in saying they di...
Your thoughts on best audiophile speakers in $10,000 neighborhood?
I could see the Borresen being glaring the treble with a very reflective room.  One needs to match the speakers to the room. Also adding room treatments.
Some thoughts on ASR and the reviews
I think there are 2-fold things here: 1. Good objective reviews are important. That includes measurements decent REPRODUCIBLE measurements. As a trained scientist, that is what writing papers is all about, in professional journals. If one cannot ...
People complain about lack of bass, not enough mid range. Solution?
When I have talked to SEVERAL speaker designers, most stated that bi-amping does nothing.
Are You a Swifty?
Can I laugh here. People are reacting like their parents did. I remember my parents saying, while in college, ’Why do you listen to that Junk? It will rot your brain’. The same with new music and how people are reacting negatively in this thread....

Long run XLR cables
I am using Blue Jean cables lowest cost XLR's for 18 ft run. They use the same connectors as the more expensive brands.
