How many vinyl albums do you own you listen to?
I have 300 or so records of the 78 rpm variety.  I enjoy listening to them when I'm in the mood.  A great juxtaposition to the main rig.  Especially when I run across a track in 78 that I have on CD.
CHALLENGE: Best speakers for playing 1812 Overture by Eric Kunzel with real CANON at 92+dB
For anyone who has the vinyl all you have to do is look at the grooves where the cannons go off, it looks like a good 60 degree angle.  That makes me stop right there.  I played it once at a low volume.Seems to me the only accurate way re-create a...
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
Well I saw the speaker(s) at RMAF 2019, emphasis on "saw".  There was only one and it was obviously not connected.  Also meet Daryl Wilson and his mother.  Very nice people indeed.  That was in the Wilson room or more correctly in the adjoining ro...
3 Ingredients to a Healthy Audio Community
Daveman2,I agree with nearly all of your post and applaud you for posting it.  In the same regard many people have vastly different personality traits on a forum than they do in "real life".  This borders on mendacity or some absence of reality.  ...

6.5 vs 8 vs 10 woofer
Mozartfan,  I would like to know what Mozart tracks you are using as your critical listening criteria or any tracks for that matter.  Just wondering how you are arriving at this enlightened conclusion.  This sounds to me to me like "No I couldn't ...

This forum is antiquated.
+1 Audioguy85It would be nice to have a reply button on each post.  I'm sure some of you guys can afford to sit on this site for hours at a time.  Usually I'm a day or two late to the game, so if I see a post I would like to reply to then just hit...
Sending a 110 lb amp to the manufacturer for cleaning/calibration. Good idea? How to ship?
Kingbr,You have plenty of good advice so it really just circles back to your decision.  Are you going to keep this amp forever?  If yes, then I would want to know how long will Simaudio keep this model "active".You said you have waited 20 years to...

Is louder better?
As with many things more is not necessarily better, but there is a "proper" volume that is determined by your individual circumstance of all the factors mentioned above.  Probably didn't need my 2 cents on this one... as I'm confident you know whe...
