Hi Tom,The other part of the equation with respect to the CS2.3 vs. CS2.4 is evaluating with our listening test.  Personally, I don't know if the difference as reported is due to the baffle "edge".  The difference could may as well be the xovers, ...
Speaker Cable Blending
STOP... For those who don’t hear any difference between wires, please excuse me. It has to do with dementia after my 35 plus years in this hobby. I’m hearing things. Been an audiophile for many years now, too many to remember.  I hereby declare...
The order of getting more/better bass
My first tip for beginning enthusiasts would be to totally ignore your original post!   Typical, poorly thought through, poor advice  I amazes me how some people can possess such ability to insult other people.

I agree that the CS2.3 baffle is cleaner vs. the CS2.4 in term of "diffraction".  I never noticed the difference before.  Maybe the motivation for the CS2.4 baffle was about the "aesthetic" appeal.
The Truth About Power Cords and there "Real" Price to Performance
I know a guy (who made my living room speakers) who has spent years perfecting his brand of power cord. I am glad the power cord has no feeling :-)
The order of getting more/better bass
A ported bass reflex speaker usually does not have the bass control vs. for example transmission line speakers.  Sometimes it's the room fault but it could be how the speaker controls the bass.  Regardless, having two sub, one for each channel is ...

Andy2, I’m assuming you mistyped, because a high-pass filter will attenuate the *low* frequencies more than the highs! OK, I was high on weeds :-)   But the more ’open’ sound without grilles IMO is as much the lack of an acoustic obstruction b...

For some reasons, Tom reminds me of this. Oh well maybe I’ll use the stereo illusions ... But I’ll take my gloves off at the challenge. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BNjhiMjk1YWYtMjgyYy00YTFhLTk0NTMtN2Q5MDZjMWEyYWI1XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMTQxNz...
BEST HARMLESS/SIGNATURELESS SPEAKERS CAPACITORS.
In the other side my conclusion along this thread ( what happened and what does not happened. ) is that does not exist a " best harmless/signatureless capacitor " for speaker crossovers. I agree. Every cap will have its sound signature - some are...

Thank you Tom. The cabinet seems to be the most time consuming part of making a speaker at least in the DIY world. I suppose with CNC equipment then maybe the process will be much faster. Personally for me the cabinet takes about 70% of the time a...

Maybe if Tom could help with this.  I was wondering how the baffle of the Thiel speakers are manufactured?  The curved baffle geometry probably presents some difficulties.  If I were to do it by hands, I probably would use a combination of a plana...
The midi range, not the tweeter, is the most important driver in a speaker.
As for the mention of the Thor, I do have a bit of a soft spot for the Seas Magnesium drivers. They have a unique warmness on the mid and lower mid but very natural, and at the same time, very detail like a hard cone. It took a bit of time to brea...
Should I buy used Thiel CS5
rather demanding amplification I think that's a bit of an exaggeration made mostly by Stereophile.  I currently have a 150W amp and it is driving the Thiels fine.  They can go pretty low.
New Speaker Conundrum - Vandy's, Spendors, Salk, Ascend - Mainstream or ID
Is cptkaos an acronym for cupcakes? :-)
The midi range, not the tweeter, is the most important driver in a speaker.
To think about it, everything else being equal, the mid probably is more important than the tweeter.  But what's more important is the xover.  The designer will ultimately be the final decider as to the final sound.
