Thiel Owners I agree with the ported bass - it's definitely a compromise. Well you can't have it all I guess. Wanting clean bass is not cheap :-)
Why no “Break in” period? Hey something just popped in my head. millercarbon and prof are the same person - like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Their damn posts are way too long. Most of us have to make a living, cook, eat, clean up the house, take care of the yards, washing ca...
Why no “Break in” period? Metals are good heat conductor because mostly of free electrons carrying kinetic energy (heat). Car engine breaking in is possible because of friction and heat. And of course electric current in cables is carried by electron which generating frict...
How Science Got Sound Wrong It's all the high frequencies. The better the digital gets, the better the high frequencies not getting as messed up. Digital amp actual is pretty good with the bass, but don't let it near your tweeters. Many people say digital CD is almost if ...
Why no “Break in” period? Many companies now put something in their manuals like, "don't worry if it sound like crap. It takes three months for it to break in." When people don't know why they make stuff up. The Greeks made up Zeus.Actually it should read like: Many comp...
Why no “Break in” period? Everything is made of the same stuffs - electrons, neutrons, protons ... and so on. Car engines are made out of the same stuffs, just like cables, capacitors, inductors ... and so on.Most people are comfortable with engines breaking-in, but findi...
Thiel Owners JA - if and as a small company might be created to keep Classic Thiel speakers updated, all models are in the mix. Hi Tom,Please remember the American moto: "Close but no cigar". We at the end will want "cigar" :-)

Thiel Owners Hi Tom,The other part of the equation with respect to the CS2.3 vs. CS2.4 is evaluating with our listening test. Personally, I don't know if the difference as reported is due to the baffle "edge". The difference could may as well be the xovers, ...
Speaker Cable Blending STOP... For those who don’t hear any difference between wires, please excuse me. It has to do with dementia after my 35 plus years in this hobby. I’m hearing things. Been an audiophile for many years now, too many to remember. I hereby declare...
The order of getting more/better bass My first tip for beginning enthusiasts would be to totally ignore your original post! Typical, poorly thought through, poor advice I amazes me how some people can possess such ability to insult other people.
Thiel Owners I agree that the CS2.3 baffle is cleaner vs. the CS2.4 in term of "diffraction". I never noticed the difference before. Maybe the motivation for the CS2.4 baffle was about the "aesthetic" appeal.
The Truth About Power Cords and there "Real" Price to Performance I know a guy (who made my living room speakers) who has spent years perfecting his brand of power cord. I am glad the power cord has no feeling :-)
The order of getting more/better bass A ported bass reflex speaker usually does not have the bass control vs. for example transmission line speakers. Sometimes it's the room fault but it could be how the speaker controls the bass. Regardless, having two sub, one for each channel is ...
Thiel Owners Andy2, I’m assuming you mistyped, because a high-pass filter will attenuate the *low* frequencies more than the highs! OK, I was high on weeds :-) But the more ’open’ sound without grilles IMO is as much the lack of an acoustic obstruction b... |
