Hana SL vs AT Art 9
The AUT 2000 has four settings; +22dB (x13), +26dB (x20), +28dB (x26) and +32dB (x40).  Impedance for each setting is 278Ohm, 117Ohm, 69Ohm and 29Ohm respectively, if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't put money on it.  I read a post, an article or something of the kind (terrible memory, sorry) a good while back which went into great details as to where and by whom Clearaudio's cartridges are/were made.  Since my interest was lacklust...
phono pre-amp being replaced
Another vote for getting a step-up (though it doesn't have to be transformer-based).  Two reasons:1) You obviously like the sound of the ARC, which is indeed a very competent phono stage, so just getting rid of it without having tried a step-up se...
Sony PUA 7 to re-wire or not
I meant, of course, a full re-wiring job.....
Upgrade from Sumiko Blue Point #2
I have had several Clearaudios and they all say made in Germany whether that is true or not. There’s no need for the cartridge to be made in Germany even if it says so. It is enough that *something* has been done to the cartridge in Germany and th...
Sony PUA 7 to re-wire or not
You say the wires are just hanging out of the end. Are we talking unterminated wires, or are the plugs present? If the wires are terminated and tf the current wire is intact and working, why do you want to re-wire it? If we’re talking bare wires, w...

Not yet having heard the new OC9 line, my recommendation would be the AT33PTG/II.  To my eyes the 33-line has more warmth than the (old) OC9-line, while being just as detailed and refined.  Since you say you don't want to give up any warmth, the f...
Re-tip or Replace?
I know, although I have no idea why. Might be due to the account being hacked a while ago, although that’s just a guess.Whatever the cause, I fell for an Ortofon Cadenza Bronze last year. A good, but not too good, price, a seller with a fair amoun...
Re-tip or Replace?
The only scams I've ever been a victim of has been right here on Audiogon.  However and as chakster says, since I used PayPal I didn't lose a penny either time.
Best Record Cleaning Fluid
Alcohol is a no-no?  I've used 70% water / 30% isopropyl alcohol for 25 or so years with excellent results.  It doesn't get any cheaper and in my experience it doesn't get much better either.
Is elliptical the best stylus profile
That depends on what you mean by "doesn't track quite well." If you're stating that most modern cartridges will stay in the LP groove, I'd agree with you. If you mean most modern cartridges can sail through things like all six tracking bands o...
Is elliptical the best stylus profile
Surely the best stylus profile is the stylus profile you like best.  Hard to see any reason to make it more complicated than that.Sure, tracking *might* be a slight factor, but like mijostyn says above it's hard to find a modern cartridge which ...
Hana SL vs AT Art 9
I'm fairly curious about the ML too and hope I get to hear it soon.  Given the quality of the SL I fully expect it to be on par with the ART9.

The phono stage is an Allnic H-1202, used in conjunction with an Allnic AUT 2000 step-up. The H-1202 already have very good transformers built in, but the ones in the AUT 2000 are even higher specced and provides an even more holographic soundstag...
Turntable leveling
A good while back I picked up three packs of ten cheapo bubble levels from eBay, just out of curiosity. From China of course. Ten tiny ones (7mm diameter), ten slightly larger (12mm) and ten "large" ones (32mm), all of the circular disc type, the ...
