Hana SL vs AT Art 9
I own the ART9 and have listened to both it and the Hana SL in several systems including my own. My ¢2:I love the Hana SL, but to my mind there’s no real contest. The ART9 is unashamedly excellent given its relatively low cost and can go toe to to...
Turntable leveling
I would trust a decent spirit level far more than any mobile phone app.  "Decent" being any spirit level bought in a hardware shop or such, rather than a $0.95 one bought on eBay and shipped from China.
Cartridges that get strings right?
It's all of the above, and more. It's the system. Wot he said.
Cartridges that get strings right?
The Allnic Puritas is the best I've ever heard in regards to strings and female voices (as well as countertenors), which is the exact reason I bought it.  I listen to a lot of pre-classical music, as well as music from the Late Medieval and Elizab...
Kiseki and Lyra Cartridge Dealers in Japan and Taiwan
In my opinion it is better to buy a demo unit from official distributor or used sample from another audiophile, those carts are under warranty and can be upgraded by the manufacturer easily. I think it's better to do both, if you want to do bo...
Best step-up between a Kondo M7 and a Lyra Skala
I have been using a vintage step-up (UTC A11) between my preamp Kondo M7 and my cartridge Lyra Skala. The match was really good. Or any other combination that match well (the UTC transfo are not easy to get in Europe ...!) How was the the A11 wire...

I would have recommended Nottingham Analogue, except that I see their turntables are truly insanely priced across the pond.  The Ace Spacedeck seems to be well over twice the £1500 UK price, at $4500.That being the case, there are a plethora of ch...

By reputable I meant that 2juki has excellent customer service, as mentioned, and will make thing right with no fuss if the product received is not as described.  I can vouch for that myself, as can many of my friends and it'll only take a min...
Tonearm suggestions for my Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck
I have no experience with the 12", but my 9.6" Schick certainly works exceedingly well with my medium compliance cartridges.  My AT150Sa weighing in at 5.3g and having a compliance of 18 or so ( (@ 10Hz) tracks and performs a treat.  The ART9, w...

I wholeheartedly second trying 2juki on eBay.  He's a very reputable seller with great prices, generally among the lowest you'll find anywhere, as well as excellent customer service.  I've bought numerous tonearms, cartridges and headshells fom hi...
Tonearm suggestions for my Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck
The GrooveMaster II Ti looks like a good choice and I briefly considered it before buying the Schick.  However, after VAT it would have ended up more expensive, as well as appearing to be significantly less flexible in terms of suitable cartridge ...
KD 500 w/ Grace 707 arm. Stylus type.
Everything I’ve read about those fancy styli are you need to dial them in for each record thickness ,etc. Just goes to show that you shouldn’t believe everything you read. Read the last four sentences of lewm’s post instead, take them to heart and...
Help me decide on my next cartridge (
I’m entirely in agreement with this: I think you’re probably better off selling the TT and putting your proceeds and additional funds towards a better table. In my view it’s your weakest link in the chain, not the cartridge. The Debut Carbon Espri...
Tonearm suggestions for my Nottingham Analogue Spacedeck
I’ve never been enamoured with Nottingham’s tonearms, but I can recommend Jelco’s 750 and 850 series arms, Micro Seiki MA-505 (I know you stated no vintage, but a well-kept MA-505 is hard to beat in terms of price/performance) and most of all, my ...
KD 500 w/ Grace 707 arm. Stylus type.
I can't really help in any way, but I'm awfully curious as to why you're so adverse to doing any kind of adjustments?  It's not, after all, as if adjusting VAT or azimuth is particularly difficult....
