The AI's are really good at questions like: "Compare the sound characteristics between x and y amp". It gets a little more iffy if you ask for recommendations, as it has access to lots of marketing info and it can be a little less discriminating... feeding back a survey of marketing information instead of well balanced experience. The questions are really important. But for some aspects it is really good. |
@sawbuck i started out listening my basic equipment, looking for weakest link recommendations (very similar to discussions on this forum). Then continued to refine my input to include details like interconnects, PC’s, tweeks etc. You can then begin an ongoing discussion. it knows the sound signature of your components and recommends upgrades based upon that. |
It can be a very useful tool in other arts as well. As a concert photographer, I sometimes use it to remove mic stands in front of performers or amps in the background that are just distractions. But I certainly don't just turn it loose and say 'Make me a picture', though if I learned prompting and other aspects of it well enough, I could be an AI artist as well; I have played around with that for a bit. |
