Which Shunyata Power Cord?

Shunyata is far from bright in my system. A good cable for the money is the Alpha NR V1 or Alpha HC.

Wow! I use one on my Coda 8 and the pairing is superb. Just goes to show it’s always best to try before you buy.

As a matter of fact I liked the pairing so well that I am replacing the Alpha v2 nr with a Sigma v2 nr soon.

@aolmrd1241 I need to amend my earlier post. I thought it was the XC version but I double checked my email and my music direct order was for the alpha v2 nr in 1.75m. Sorry for the confusion. But it is the NR that turned my XA30.8 into a fatiguing beast.

Your Pass is a very fine amp and would have been better suited with a Alpha v2 NR instead in my opinion.

Maybe you should have tried it on your Puritan Audio Labs PSM156...

@audphile1 what are your other cables? I don't find the Shunyata Alpha V2 XC bright whatsoever.  Maybe you're getting some bad interactions with other cables in your system. 

You did not specify if you need a power cable for a high current or low current application.  Also, I do not know what you mean by a “warm” sounding cables.  While each brand will have its one sonic signature, power cables are designed to lower the noise floor and improve detail retrieval, soundstage, and dynamics.  
 

I cannot answer your question directly because I find Shunyata power cables fatiguing in my system and not the best value at there price point. Probably a system matching issue with my integrated amp since they are well respected. Alternatively, may I leave you with the recommendation of auditioning WyWires Platinum.  They are quiet, transparent, coherent, detailed, dynamic, true to timbre and just musical.  WW is having a 40% off sale so they are a bargain within your budget.  Alex, the designer and proprietor is great and very helpful.  See some pro reviews below.

All of my components are powered by Shunyata NR cords. The NR (noise reduction) cords really do “quiet” my system allowing for hearing more minute details and expanding the sound space in all dimensions.

I don’t think so. It’s a high current power cord and is suitable for use on amplifiers. Which is where it was tested in my system. It managed to turn my Pass Labs XA30.8 into a bright and fatiguing amp which is nearly an impossible task n

Yep the last shunyata power cord I tried, Alpha v2 XC, caused listening fatigue. I ended up returning it. The older Python and Typan Helix Alpha cables that i had for years were more balanced but still not warm.

Another alternative is Audience AU24SE HP. But I would go with the Hurricane. Awesome bass and never bright. 

I have not had that good of luck with Shunyata, but spectacular luck with the new AudioQuest Storm series. @audphile1 +1 on Hurricane!

I found the Audio Quest to be completely and utterly neutral, with incredibly low noice floor and dynamics on my amp. Cardas are warm. I spent a year experimenting with power cords for my amps.

Also, Shunyata power cords aren’t warm sounding. If you want warrm, you’re not going to beat the Audioquest Hurricane used around $1000 for 1m. 

For what component?

Or.... should I be looking for diff brand?
