Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

Cracker  "The Golden Age".

An (really) early Classic release. In fact, the only vinyl of Cracker I know of!
nutty,

I just realized my prior recommendation of Triumph "Never Surrender", never made it through the AG narcs.

A great lp!
nutty,

I think you'll have an interest in sides 2&3 of Hot Tuna "Double Dose/Live"!
......I mean, I'm a ROCK guy, but upon listening to the Vince Gill lp above. WOW!  what a superb artist!!!!!!

I hope I won't be ostracized!!
another record show find...

Vince Gill "The Things That Matter".

Don't dismiss it out-of-hand. Superb..great recording!
The Clash, Combat Rock, cassette. Whoa! Now this is what dynamic range is all about!

"Oh Well". Here it is, live!  Rarely found on their lps. The UK version of "Then Play On" has it.

Eels did a GREAT cover on "Cautionary Tales..."
another record show find... an extremely clean..

Fleetwood Mac "Live"  /1980.

Recorded at various venues from this tour. Amazing how consistent the great sound is here!
more record show stuff...warmed up my system with...

Boz Scaggs  "Middle man"

Traffic "S/T", the U.S. version on United Artist pressed at Bell sound.

Hot Tuna  "Double Dose/Live" /demonstration copy. Sounds REAL good!

reubent,

I'm totally clueless on anything digital. I've been laser focused on vinyl playback all of my life. Even my new phono preamp, I had a volume control built into it as I don't use a line stage. My computer is in another room (desktop). Pretty sad, I know.

Thanks for the info.
One of my recent record show finds. A clean copy of..

The Velvet Underground "VU" !
@slaw

I use my little Raspberry Pi music server to stream to my main system. I built a killer little streamer/server for under $200 and it could be done for about $100 if you forego a fancy power supply and case. Heck, if you have a USB DAC, you could build a Raspberry Pi dedicated music streamer/server for under $50 and get really decent sound. Also, the MoOde OS is free and super easy to set up and use. It's incredibly robust. I left it running for a week while I went on vacation. Came home and it was still streaming Radio Paradise via a wifi connection.
Got recently my audible treat and spinning following albums at least 4th time:

Depeche Mode "Exciter" on original 2001 UK vinyl
Depeche Mode "Ultra" on original 1999 UK vinyl

They are indeed kings of electronic rock. MEGA POWER
reubent,

I agree with you on RP. If I had a different set-up, I'd listen more. I hate to sit in front of my computer to listen.

arcam88,

Appreciate to follow-up!

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record (well, actually like a continuous audio stream), but this morning I'm listening to Radio Paradise's internet radio stream (Again!). I love the eclectic mix. They just played Two Cello's version of "Hurt" followed by Led Zeppelin - "Heartbreaker", then Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - "All in a Day". Who does that?........... :~) I've found so much new music on Radio Paradise. I've started using Shazam just to keep a running record of the new music I hear, and want to buy, while listening to RP.

Seriously, for me, for passive listening, Radio Paradise is currently my favorite music source, bar none. It ain't bad for active listing either. I find the sound quality at 320kbps to be excellent. I'm often in pure amazement regarding their playlist. I have a little music server/streamer that I built using a Raspberry Pi / HiFiBerry DAC Pro+ that I use for streaming RP to my main system. It sounds great!

Happy Weekend to All, and Enjoy.......
ghosthouse,

I really liked BLS. Reminiscent of Liquid Tension Experiment. Anything with Tony Levin is usually very well produced. I agree with your song picks also. I believe they are the some of the best tracks. Thanks for the intel!

arcam88, great selection as always! In keeping with the Tony Levin and Peter Gabriel theme, I listened to a Remastered version of "So" that is recorded very nicely.

I really like this from Dalton Santos. "I Guitar".

Nutty -
Have Memory Crash going in the 'phones tonight.  Tried this recording a while back.  For whatever reason, it didn't grab me then.  Sure am picking up on it tonight though!  Like the fact it is mainly instrumental (well, just got to his cover of Day of the Eagle...so a vocal there).  This LP has a bit of a prog feel to it...Water on Ares does, at least.  Good recommendation.

arcam88 - I have the SACD version of Up.  It is a fantastic recording and I expect that applies to the Redbook CD version just as much.  The dynamics on Track 1 have startled the heck out of me more than once.  Many strong songs.  My fav is what immediately follows More Than This, that being Signal to Noise.  Something very moving about that song.
Slaw,
You were right! I just listen to "Aja" and "Katy Lied" back to back the other night. "Katy Lied" does not compare to Asia!
What a shame😞

Nutty - If you like Stevens, give a listen to Black Light Syndrome and Situation Dangerous.  These are collaborative recordings he did with Terry Bozzio and Tony Levin (BLS).  Great sonics and great playing by all.  Standout tracks for me from Black Light Syndrome are Duende & Book of Hours.  I especially like Spiral and Tziganne from Situation Dangerous.  If you don't already know 'em, could be some great new music for you (though these are not new recordings).
Stevie Stevens, Memory Crash. You rember him from his work with Billy Idol and he did the guitar work on the Top Gun Movie Anthem. There is a cover of Trowers "Day of the Eagle", check it if ya want.
"Prime Mover" has a great groove.

And "Cherry Vanilla" is cool.

Back at ya, Nutty. This was on my system yesterday
(appropriately, enough), but it is good any day!

Joe Bonamassa, "A New Day Yesterday Live". The title track, Track 4, is all you need to know about Joe B. This track tells you everything...that’s good and bad, unfortunately.

Don't know when this Rockpalast performance is from.  Thinking that maybe I prefer the ANDYL performance (more disciplined not quite as over the top?).  Still this'll give anyone a good idea what we be talkin' 'bout.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned.
