Whats playing on your system today?

Today I decided to listen to two of my favorite rock guitar heros and one great vocalist. Guitarist' Robin Trower, Ronnie Montrose and vocalist Davey Pattison.

I listened to Trower songs:
Bridge of sighs, Stitch in time, The fool and me, my personal favorite- Too rolling stoned and others.....

Then I pulled out "Gamma".
I listened to: Razor King, Wish I was and Skin and bone and others.....

Davey Pattison hooked has also up with Michael Shenker also. I really enjoyed my day so far. Anybody else heard anything good?

The Cult, Ceremony
Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy are true rock stars!
Great CD, on par with Sonic Temple and Electric, IMHO.
The title track "Ceremony"

Slaw,

Glad you enjoyed Interstate Blues. I had a chance to check out Black Dub you referenced a few day’s ago. Very talented.

@jafant

Pat Metheny a long, long time favorite. Have his vinyl from the 70s, purchased during my first brush with Hifi.

ECM, his label, embargoes the US on streaming via Tidal. This has forced me to buy his later recordings. Sonsab@&$hes.   :)

"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" -Bob Dylan

"Changes" - David Bowie

"I'm the Man" - Joe Jackson
nutty I picked up Voodoo Moon recently.   Have not had a chance to soak in yet but always enjoy Savoy Brown.    Saw them live for first time a couple years back in an excellent small venue and was not disapointed.
mapman,

Voodoo Moon is a decent listen.  Here is another track that has some bite.
"Too much Money"

Enjoy!

Tears for Fears...The Hurting. I'm making up for lost time. I was too cool when this came out and I now realize I was sadly stupid to think that. One of the best bands ever.

kicking back........

Listening to the complete 4 lp box of My Morning Jacket  "Okonokos"!
donjr,

I hear you!

I just cleaned and listened to Alejandro Escovedo  "A Man Under The Influence".

I cleaned it per my new/current method.  Outstanding in terms of the difference to the last time I listened.

Happy Listening!
Big TFF fan here- donjr

'The Hurting' totally set the stage for 'Songs from the big Chair'
As we now know, "Songs" turned into an 80's masterpiece.
Been listening to music through the new Raspberry Pi music server/streamer I set up today. Been listening to Radio Paradise stream and stuff from my old iTunes library. Last song up:

"Dirty Life and Times" from Warren Zevon's - The Wind
donjr,

I love "The Hurting" by Tears for Fears. It's all excellent, but "Memories Fade" is probably my favorite track on the album.
Follow that up with Someday My Prince Will Come. Miles Davis track 2 Old Folks and you are in heaven.
I like "The Hurting" by Tears for Fears.
I love "Songs from the big Chair" ans as we now know, it is a Masterpiece of 80's Pop.
Street Survivors - strong songs and a great reminder what good musicians the boys in 'Skynryd were.  Sonics from this "Deluxe Edition" on Tidal are very good too.
NIN w/ David Bowie "Back In Anger" Vol 2. (lp)

I have both volumes but #2 is the Star!

ghosthouse,

Listened to my Universal (lp) pressing from maybe 10 years ago?  Sounds fantastic!
Last night's session consisted of James Brown/Live At The Apollo, Warren Zevon/Excitable Boy, BB King/Deuces Wild and Them/Them Again, all on vinyl.
@slaw

Awesome. Xanadu and La Villa Strangiato are my two favorite Rush songs. My favorite album is exit stage left - still can't believe only three guys playing in real time without any loops sequencers or anything.

What do you think is their best recording?
shadorne,

Thank you for your response. I can't answer your question with authority now, as I'm still (drinking in) all of their music that I did know and did not know.  (Does this make much sense?)

I will make this statement... I do think their first lp is one of THE best freshmen lps EVER!!!!

Lots of catching up to do. You guys are nailing down some great music.
RUSH! Best debut albumn.
