Central Maryland. Been to Michigan a few times this time of year.....cold! Not very sunny here today but it warmed up a bit today and a nice southern exposure in there nonetheless. |
"
Relaxing in the sunroom" Apparently you don't live in Michigan LOL
Jana McCall / Slumber |
I’m very fortunate to have been able to set up having music wired or broadcast into most any room of my house off various systems. Relaxing in the sunroom with the Dynaudio Contours today. Music server on random play. Currently grooving to Beethoven Missa Solemnis performed by George Solti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Choir, a Decca recording on CD. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missa_solemnis_(Beethoven) |
@nutty - Thanks for the mention of ELP's "Tarkus". Was at Plaid Room Records this morning and plucked a nice copy out of the "new today" used record bin. |

Agreed- the CD is excellent in sound quality. The SACD version is outstanding in sound quality. Happy Listening! |
Nutty
Exactly!
Both those D.T. Albums are early nineties, very accessible.
Some of the later stuff is a bit esoteric to say the least.
Same with IQ, I still think their first self titled album was the best and it gets played often here.

Steely Dan-Gaucho, CD. The production quality is so good I even like the songs I don't like. ;-) |
ghosthouse, uberwaltz-
I feel the older Dream Theater music is best. It has a more organic working mans feel to it.
jafant,
You were on to something with Tina Turner earlier. I spun Simply The Best- CD earlier. Tina's vocals on the Totem Forest Signatures, wow!

Try Images and Words by D.T too.
It's one I can easily listen to time and time again, the first track Pull Me Under is a favourite for me. |
Dream Theater - Awake
Thanks to Nutty for suggesting this one. It's got more emotional "juice" than other DT music I'd tried. |
