Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Phil Manzanera - 801 Live,  with Brian Eno, Bill MacCormick , Francis Monkman, Simon Phillips, & Lloyd Watson. Polydor 1977

Pere Ubu - The Modern Dance. Fire Records reissue/remaster 2018, originally 1978

I may be biased when it comes to Dire Straits. I had always thought the production on all of the original pressings was great.

Same goes for Steely Dan!

I can still remember my reaction listening to Do It Again for the first time on the Can’t Buy A Thrill album. I thought it made my BSR system from high school really shine.

Hope you like the Big Star, @nicks25. If you do, their other classic "#1 Record" just came back in stock at some online stores. It wasn't available when I ordered yours or I might have picked that one instead. It's got my fav track of theirs, "Thirteen" and the theme from That 70's Show.

Cake - Fashion Nugget. It's off center and skipped once so far Pretty disappointing.

Aww, man. I really wanted to get it.

Spencer, I was really excited when I saw it was reissued. I'm going to try to return it and hopefully get a decent copy.

Deutsche Elektronische Musik 2 / Various Artists

German rock music (box set). Highly recommended

+1 on Boz

Duane Allman and the mystique of Muscle Shoals. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Got a fairly rare, Japanese Steely Dan compilation from Discogs.

Not bad, but I feel it was visually graded and not play-tested, as it’s very noisy. Making me think about more serious cleaning tools.

Greg, My copy (Cake) was in great condition. Hope you find a nice copy brother!

I see 4 pressings of Fashion Nugget ’22. If you believe Hoffman thread, the US uncredited one is pressed at United(not good). I’m tempted to get the German pressed at Pallas even though more $ & time.

Wish that Clapton Rainbow Concert was better recorded. Some great playing, but the overall recording sucks. Still nice to have, as it was his first return to the stage after getting off heroin at the time. As I understand, it was Pete that pushed him to do that show.

@bkeske you're doing it all wrong. You've got to put that album on then go listen from the bathroom down the hall; extra reverb masks the crappiness. Then go back to the sweet spot and play

Spencer, thanks for the heads up on the European version of Fashion Fugget. I may give that a try.

😁👍🏼

A big thumbs up for Plaid Room records.  They responded quickly to my email about the defective Cake record and have another one on the way along with a return label.  I may still pick up the European pressing also.

Holy smokes, what a pain the rear. Just upgraded my iPhone via ATT and a total mess online. Had to call to ‘complete’ the order, which I had already done online, and after an hour, or so, with a ‘customer service’ rep, finally got it done. Not sure why I stay with ATT.

I feel like I need a head banging heavy metal experience right now, but will calm and settle with this…

Neil Young - After The Gold Rush. Reprise reissue 1978, originally 1970.

David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name. Atlantic 50th Anniversary Edition reissue/remaster 2021, originally 1971

Breaking out the big Jerry box…

The Jerry Garcia Band - S/T. Round Records 4 1/2 LP box, released 2021. Recorded live at The Warfield 1990.

Jerry at his best

@bkeske "Breaking out the big Jerry box…" +1 my friend!

Cranked, tingling, and raising the hair on my body Tim. Electric.
