Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue

Jim,

My wife got me in trouble with "security" at a Mellencamp concert back in the day. She was a big fan & wanted to get closer to the stage than they were allowing. I was backing her up (LOL). Security won.

Jim, it’s wonderful on vinyl. Obviously a digital recording, but IMO, still sounds better on vinyl.

Hilary is incredible. Have most her CD’s.

Elton John - "Rock of the Westies"

Not one of Elton John’s most popular albums, but it does contain one of my all-time favorite Elton John songs - "I Feel Like a Bullet".

Joni Mitchell - "Dog Eat Dog"

Had this on CD since it first came out in 1985. Just picked it up on vinyl. Here's one of my favorites from this album:

@tomic601

Her violin sounds real. Real wood.  The recording is so good you can hear the nuanced tonal changes in her movements.   It’s not bright (tilted down?) but very transparent.   One of my best records.   Forgot to mention : vinyl package is especially lovely - don’t get that on the stream.

Mono / Nowhere now here

I have this album and really like it.   A LOT of sound.  It’s interesting to me to compare this record listening on my open speakers to listening to the file on headphones.   The record has more and depth and presence but on the stream it is a little easier to hear what’s going on with all the harmonics.   Glad I have the record, it’s in a very cool package.

Some recorded with a pet mouse in her pocket.  She is so good.  So gifted.  But I’m preaching to the choir I know - we’ve discussed…

Agreed James. It amazes that some like to criticize her for being too technical. I get that, but then, I don’t either, as I feel real emotion in her playing as well. Her recording of The Lark Ascending is a perfect example.

spiritofradio, I like the band "Mono". What I like best about that particular album is the wonderful way they integrated strings into it. Very talented musicians.

@bkeske

The Schumann box is very nice although I have maybe mixed feelings about the acrylic case.   Anyway the important things are there beautiful emotional renditions of the work, exceptionally high quality recordings and records, and a super nice folio and book in the package.

The KD650 and the MP-200 seem to be getting along well. I’m curious how my beloved Grado would sound on it, but can’t get myself to take the purple wonder off. Lucky for me I’ll have plenty of down time the next few days as I’m having yet another knee surgery tomorrow morning. Good news is I have a punch card at the Ortho and this one is free ;)

Broke the seal on...

Morphine - "Cure for Pain"

I've had the CD since it was released and have always enjoyed it. The vinyl is even better...

Nice cover version of “Tears Of A Clown”.

Finishing up Morphine - "Cure for Pain".

I usually don't care for bonus material. However, in this case the 2 sides of bonus material are pretty good and are quite a bit different from the original material. This record is really good. Great sound quality too.
