Nitty Gritty Dirt Band "Will the Circle be Unbroken" Vol Two /op

XTC - English Settlement - original pressing
@fixedincome,

Which pressing are you listening to? I have the 50th Anniversary coming in soon.
Simone Kopmajer:  "Taking a Chance on Love" -- 200gm, Venus Records Japan
Has a great cover of James Taylor's Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight.
@slaw, are you getting the deluxe box Music From Big Pink? 2 LP's, a 7" 45, an SACD/DVD, and a book. Can't wait!
Warren G - Regulate, G Funk Era

St. Vincent - Masseduction

Office Space Soundtrack

Keeping it groovy.
The Police - Ghost in the Machine, reissue, pretty good
Sonny Clark Trio - 1960 Time Sessions reissue on 200g vinyl, sound quality is phenomenal but I can't get rid of some vinyl noise, pissing me off
ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA  - Out of the Blue
Electric Light Orchestra- Evil Woman
...one of my favs...
JETHRO TULL...Stand Up.  Came across this gorgeous-looking LP at a flea market for a dollar. Diggin’ it!
1959 Decca Porgy and Bess with Sammy Davis Jr and Carmin McRae. It is not in good condition. It is clean but it had not been treated well. Who cares? The sound (notwithstanding Sammy's strident vocals) is fantastic. The stage depth is insane and the balance is spot on. No bloated bass. Brass is colorful and mass strings are sweet as a nut. There is nothing in digital that can touch what we have thrown away.
--1976 Japanese pressing Denon PCM early digital recording of Beethoven Symphony No.9 Choral. It’s in mint condition. Shame it sounds so bad. Flat. Compressed. Unemotional. Crap.

-- Mozart String Quartets 14 and 15 KV387, KV421 Alban Berg on Telefunken. 1970. Silent vinyl. Beautiful recording. You can feel the cello bow rosin leaving the horsehair. Melodic and colorful. Sit up and listen insightful. It actually sounds like their old tubes! Maybe I'm imagining it.

Courtney Barnett "Tell Me How You Really Feel"
Derek & The Dominos "Layla & Other Assorted Love Songs"  MFSL/45rpm
*Judy Collins "Judith"

*Bob Brookmeyer and Friends (Brookmeyer, Stan Getz, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Gary Burton, Elvin Jones.)
Regarding my post above, I mistakenly wrote that the Derek & Dominos lp was a 45 rpm, it is a 33rpm. I’ve never heard a version of this lp that drew me in sonically until I heard this version. I own a first/OP, this one blows it away.

Up next... The Decemberists "I'll Be Your Girl"
@slaw it is very good. There is some variation between some of the tracks but overall it is worth the money.

Today:
Steely Dan - Pretzel Logic, demo copy
I recently discovered Thea. I purchased two of her lps. I’m trying to figure out how to describe her to others. I’d say a cross between Dido and Annie Lennox. That description encompasses a lot of room in-between, which you'll understand what I mean once you hear her. She has a fairly large catalog.

Up next: Jeff Beck "Live +"
Wow! The Jeff Beck lp was killer!

Up next.. Nine Inch Nails/David Bowie "Back In Anger/Vol 2"
Thanks @boxer12, for reminding me that I wanted to hear "Signify" this weekend.

BTW, I made the decision to complete my Son Volt collection. I currently have most coming in within the next week. Some are pricey! Better now than later.

"Signify" is sounding fantastic!...will finish it later...

Right now...Orenda Fink "Blue Dream"!!!
Slaw, I haven't picked up Signify yet. Now it looks like I'll have too (LOL). Porcupine Tree is a GREAT band. In regard to Son Volt, I kick myself for not seeing them earlier this month. They were playing about three hours away from me but life got in the way... Bummer.
Buffalo Springfield box set 'What's That Sound'. Mastered from the original tapes under the 'supervision' of Neil Young. I started with the mono versions (1st two albums) & the sonics are incredible.
