I love Pere Ubu. My friend Taras (now deceased and greatly missed) who managed a couple of kühl record stores turned me on to them back in the day. Taras and David Thomas even looked alike

Speaking of weird and wonderful, I'm listening to Dalek I Love You right now
Antal Dorati conducts Rimsky-Korsakov - Le Co D'Or Suite & Borodin - Prince Igor Excerpts. London Symphony Orchestra & Chorus. Mercury ‘Golden Imports’ 1973

Jim got his copy before me. Just cleaning mine now.😆
The Steve Miller Band  "Sailor"  I have had this since 1973.  SQ is OK, but the music is fabulous.

These two just arrived today...

Dave Mason  "It's Like You Never Left"  Discussed on this thread last week, I realized that I did not have this.  I bought it (NM) and it just arrived.  It's a wonderful album, so glad that I now have it.  Thanks guys!

@slaw  - Hey Steve, which version of "Fair and Square" did you buy? I think I'll pick up one.
@boxer12

Bkeske,
Good to hear it arrived

Yes it did, thanks so much again Tim. I like it. That was an interesting time for David and the reconstituted Ubu. I have a couple others from that period on cassette (Worlds in Collision & Story of My Life) and CD. BUT, The vinyl is great. Now just awaiting Modern Dance. Guy hasn’t shipped it yet….

@big_greg

Have you considered the anniversary set from Garbage debut lp?
John Prine "Fair & Square"

Lp 1 is pretty warped, so I’ll reserve an opinion on SQ later.....

No I want, ....I think John’s voice is muffled on the first song. Maybe a result of the type of cancer he had.

Screaming Trees / Uncle Anesthesia
Screaming Trees / Sweet Oblivion
The Smithereens / Especially For You
Cowboy Junkies / Caution Horses
The Sadies / New Seasons

only to find....
they got their head, up their behind"
Steve, I wasn't aware of that anniversary edition of Garbage. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm not all that interested though, it was such a great album that I'm not sure it needs all the other stuff added to it.
Yeah Greg, their debut still stands as their best, IMO.

All comes down to what level of a fan one is? I agree with you. Played my copy last week....sounds great,!
Steve, you reminded me to pull out the Brian Ferry album for later tonight.  That too, is a great album for a Saturday night.
Tarantula? I was listening to a song on local college station earlier. They played a cut by Tortoise. Sounded similar to Yes.

No kidding.
Come On Up to the House/Women Sing Waits
2019/Dualtone

Heard good things about it.........
Tortoise is a great band that I don't listen to nearly enough. If you haven't heard their "TNT" release, you may want to stream it sometime. Really good, but not everyone's cup of tea.

Battles / Mirrored
Anyone streamed the cut off of the Sussana Hoffs/Aimee Mann record?

I liked it
@slaw
No but I will, I like those two.

Traffic / Shoot Out At The FantasyFactiry
Thanks @slaw, Name Of The Game is one of my favorite Badfinger songs and Hoffs/Mann did it well. Got me thinking Bangles now!

Bangles / Different Light
