More Songs...was recommended to me by one of my record store gurus when it came out so I bought it. I listened to it once, and thought it was total shite and put it my shelf for a year before playing it again. Still had problems when I listened to it a second time, especially with the yelping chihooahooa singer. Six months later played it again and the switch went 'click'. One of my favourite albums of all time

A song called 'Lazarus Man'. I first heard it only recently and when I did I thought "This is very cool". The cool factor went off the charts when I learned the singer was an 80-yr old Tom Jones, from his album Surrounded By Time

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - Butterfly 3001

I'm rather late to these guys but it should be against the law to be this good. Stunning album!

@reubent

Meddle was the soundtrack of choice for my and my friends 'consciousness-expansion' evenings back in the day. Still sounds great!

Gang of Four - Solid Gold

Totally jacked to see this band once again. The first time was in SF in the 80's. The second time will be this March at the Horseshoe in Toronto. YAYYY!!

The new single from Pussy Riot - Punish

The video caught my attention, the music kept it

@reubent

I have it on cd. It is definitely one of my desert island disks and I've probably listened to it the most out of my (many) jazz albums

Let me know what you think after listening to it

Cheers

Listening to New York Stories Vol 1 right now. Danny Gatton on guitar is just killing it! My favourite recording featuring him ever, which is saying a lot considering his catalogue. Of course it doesn't hurt that he shares the stage with heavyweights like Bobby Watson, Charles Fambrough and others

It's a shame there was never a Vol 2

@bkeske
I love Pere Ubu. My friend Taras (now deceased and greatly missed) who managed a couple of kühl record stores turned me on to them back in the day. Taras and David Thomas even looked alike

Speaking of weird and wonderful, I'm listening to Dalek I Love You right now
Gang of Four "Entertainment!"

Just scored tickets yesterday to see them in March at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto. As a young sprog I was lucky enough to catch them in SFO in the mid-80's when my crush the bouncing pixie Sara Lee was their bass player. Now she's returned to the band for this tour (Yay!). Sadly no Andy Gill (RIP) but still it should be a cracking evening with the other original members

@tomic601

The track 'Tenors of the Time' makes me think of thoroughbreds racing!
Pete Christlieb/Warne Marsh "Apogee"

A wild meetup of two tenors going toe-to-toe in this album produced by Becker and Fagen from Steely Dan. One of my desert island disks that never fails to make me smile when I'm feeling down
John Coltrane - A Love Supreme, Live In Seattle

A newly discovered, rare live recording of his masterwork. Amazing sound  considering it was with two mics suspended from the ceiling of The Penthouse club. A thrilling album, to say the least
With all of the mentions of Talking Heads, "Buildings and Food" I am going to play that later today.

Fleetwood Mac "Kiln House" This reissue is very well done. I replaced my long lost pp copy with this and am very pleased with it. Excellent music, no doubt.

Jethro Tull "Benefit" The Steve Wilson remix issue. My copy is really good and quiet and the remix is wonderful. Brings back some awesome memories of "back in the day" (Tull concerts, high school parties...)

Just stumbled into this forum and after seeing this I just had to join
Mammothguy, those are three of my desert island disks. It took me a year after More Song's release before I would give it a second listen. Then I did. Then a third time. Well, you know how this ends..
