Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Porcelain Raft first album gets better every time I listen to it. Any idea if their second one is as good?
Szell conducts Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 In B Flat & Thirty-Two Variations In C. The Cleveland Orchestra w/Emil Gilels, piano. Angel 1970
Okay, enough beat up records for today. Vanessa Fernandez - When the Levee Breaks.
Brian, the price was right, beggars can't be choosers, gift horses, and all that stuff. I'm not sure if I already have a decent copy in my collection, I'll have to look.

This Vanessa Fernandez album is 45 RPM so I have to get up about every 10 minutes, LOL.
Brian,
Unfortunately, I haven't heard the second "Porcelain Raft" album yet.

Put Your Records On!”

@bkeske,

Bruckner has never clicked with me yet, but I keep trying. Waiting for the light bulb to turn on….if ever.

Try No. 7, or just the adagio from No. 7 and let yourself float away on it.   It’s almost psychedelic and definitely spiritual.  Not really anything like traditional melody in it so think of it like something modern and not like Brahms.
Valerie Carter -  Just a Stone’s Throw Away

This disc, produced in part by Lowell George was my into to the true high end….and great music beyond FM radio..

At the high end shop i worked at afternoon in high school, owner had this album, sounded amazing on some Bud Fried IMF monitors….or the Shahinian Obelisk, or the pedestrian Thiels….

Yes, seed planted…
@tomic601 , @boxer12, That golf ball TT by WTL- a good platform for a moving iron cartridge? What a friend has and inspired my current moves to improve my stereo over the last 5 years or so. His sounded/ sounds pretty great.
Valerie Carter - Wild Child ( Server ) but i have a Japan press i treasure
@boxer12, +1 on Camel.   Great selections exhibiting your excellent taste sir.
James - IMO and great experience w friends Amadeus and excellent, musical table… Quirky yes but sonics way, way above expense.

@mr_m has a WTL with Vandy Treo CT, Nakagoka, lovely sonics…
Steve - I remember them as BIG..bigger than ADS-810 but not tge model with the KEF B-139 bass driver, they had magic….
Hey Steve, Yeah I scored a mint pair of Quad ESL 63 on a trip to Seattle this last week.  They are hooked up in an alternate system in my basement.  Although I need to get another amp that will work better with them, records are already sounding really interesting and fun just using a (decent) Yamaha integrated.
The Clarity and Air and sound stage architecture made by the Quads are all really smile inducing.

Although tonight I’m back listening to my main rig (corner horns) w Grey’s Anatomy.
“Trouble” oh so good

I haven’t played this record for a long time (I also have it on cassette which gets more attention) and never on this gear.  It’s a really good sounding record.
Jethro Tull - Stand Up, this is a 1973 Chrysalis reissue.  The Steven Wilson remix sounds a lot more dynamic and the instruments seem to have better separation.
Michael Ponti plays Scriabin - 12 Piano Sonatas. VOX Box 3 LP box 1972

Be safe and healthy.

Enjoy Joel, we’ll keep the vinyl warm in your absence 🙂
Sticking with another solo piano performance….
