I tried to find a good sounding original and never did. Bought the remastered box sets and those sound great!!!
fish tank sounds like rabbit hole….

As kids we had a freshwater tank. My Dad at time was a field marine biologist at Ohio State. He brought home a 16” or so Bowfin..it quickly became the only fish in that tank…

200% mean hombre
Loving, Standing on the Breach! A little bass heavy, but that's alright with me.
Jim, fish art, yes indeed!  Those are yellowfin tuna.  I got that on a trade (Alpine car audio product for the framed art) from the artist, in Hawaii.  It's a Japanese art style, but I can't remember the name of it.  It begins with crinkled rice paper, then take the actual fish and paint them with a black carbon watery substance, lay the fish on the rice paper and that creates a silhouette of the fish.  The artist then colors in the fish with water colors.  It's quite unique and goes well with combining two of my hobbies, offshore fishing and high-fidelity music systems (and music, of course).

Sorry to be long winded, but I am rather enthused with it and wanted to share the story.
Joel,

Regarding, The Division Bell. Do you happen to have the later remaster on dbl vinyl? Recommended.
The Claremont Quartet w/Joanna Nickrenz, piano : Schoenberg - Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte for Strings Quartet / Webern - String Quartet, Op. 28 / Stravinsky - Three Pieces for String Quartet & Concerto for String Quartet. Nonesuch 1968
FWIW, Received my long awaited orders of inner sleeves from www.vinylstoragesolutions.com

I'm satisfied with the product but don't know why they weren't shipped in an lp sized box? Lucky they arrived unscathed.

ya man, thanks for the spur, musical spur….
The Allegri String Quartet : Britten - String Quartet No. 1 In D, Op. 25 & String Quartet No. 2 In C, Op. 36. London Treasury Series 1976
Steve, yes.  My copy of Division Bell is the double LP remaster.  It's excellent quality vinyl and superior sound quality.  Just got it, about 6 months ago.

I saw that concert, too.  North American tour of Division Bell at The Rose Bowl, Pasadena.
Sugarloaf S/T is queued up from the free box after a shower and a cleaning.
@big_greg  Wow Greg, you got some great stuff in that "free box".  That was a great score.
"Twin Plagues"
A true alternative/grunge band.

Sounds great!!!!
Recommended.

I think I ordered it off Bandcamp.
Props to the shipper, the lp was outside of the jacket.
I'm taking a stay at home vacation this week, so be forwarned.

Many projects planned. Some of the audio variety.

REM-Reckoning IRS 2009 Remaster

Near the end of the Maggie .7 experiment. I enjoy the hell out of closing my eyes and having entire stage in front and around me. Huge “sweet spot” if you can even call it that, with these.

Buuuuuut, I’ve played with positioning a ton, and tried lots of various recordings and just don’t get the sound out of these that I am used to with my Audiovector monitors. The separation of instruments and vocals just isn’t there for me. I could go into much more detail, but not in this thread.
@j_husker,

Since you recently posted for help regarding speaker placement.... and now, auditioning new to you speakers, is concerning to me.

Moving too fast bro

Steve, some of these records are filthy. I literally sprayed them off in the sink and scrubbed them with a sponge before putting them on the VPI 16.5.

Joel, there's some cool stuff, but most of it is VG at best, still fun to listen to. I put the Shure v15 Type IV on the Technics SL-1200 MK2. I didn't want to play a bunch of beat up records on one of my good cartridges.

Brian, how is that Sugarloaf title? Don't think I've ever heard it.
Steve,
That is one I do not have but is now on my "to get" list. Thanks Buddy!

Bark Psychosis / Dust sucker
Straight from the LRS (today) & sounding great!
Regarding The Third Mind...

Song: "Morning Dew" Jesse Sykes on vocals...

\Musical perfection!!!

I would call it just ‘OK’. Not something I would buy, lets just say that.

I bought it in a used record store in the mid-70’s, cheap. Was just curious, and the price was right at the time….probably a dollar….or less
Steve - I have been on a cripple staycation all August and into …well…now

i have written checks in my mind on things i want to do..

My wish for you is fun, relax and accomplishment !

What with goings on in NOLA, seems like the Song “ Where were You. ? “ rings true today, again….freaking… today,….

I have it rocking…in protest
Szell conducts Bruckner Symphony No. 3. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 1966

Bruckner has never clicked with me yet, but I keep trying. Waiting for the light bulb to turn on….if ever.
Jim,

Regarding audio....going to replace the RCA jacks on my Martin Logan Depthis with the KLE Silvers
Replace my VPI cart clips with the JA Audio silver clips. All the while using the PPT stuff
Lotte Lenya – Kurt Weill's The Seven Deadly Sins (Columbia Masterworks 1957)
@slaw I’ve got the room pretty well dialed now, will put the finishing touches on it tomorrow. I’m also quite happy with my current rig.

That said, I’ve only ever heard maggies at the local dealer, they’ve carried the line for a long time. Now that I have the space and resources I thought it would be interesting to hear some in my room. These are their demo pair, I was told if I like them and decide to order it would be about six month wait. The experiment just confirmed what I already suspected and that is it’s going to take a pretty big financial jump to improve on the system symmetry I have now.

Appreciate your concern and input!
Husker,.
I believe one can, in home audition directly from the manufacturer
I’ve thought about buying the Magnepan LRS’s just for fun. And maybe use occasionally for a change of pace.

Then I think about moving my 2CE Sigs, and then back in place, and re-dialing them in….and it don’t sound like too much fun after all. 😁
