Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
A friend gave me a box of records last night. On initial first look I thought they might all be heading to the garbage can but so far the first one I played seems to be in decent shape, other than that it needed a real good cleaning first

Cool

i woke up to a text from Popmarket…. my vinyl life us now complete…..

Monkees Greatest Hits?

I
n every case, especially with my vinyl rig now, LP’s just sound ‘right’; More natural, with better timbre and tone.

I won’t replace them all, but the more important ones? Yes, when I can or if they are available.

Feel the same way.

John Mayall "John Mayall & Friends" And what friends they are on this album. Peter Green, Gary Moore, Mick Fleetwood, Mick Taylor, Billy F Gibbons, Steve Miller, John McVie, and several others. These cuts were made in 2001 and the album (at least in vinyl) was released last year. Unless I am mistaken, I know that I was on the waiting list for several months. This pressing is made in Germany and the vinyl is very quiet, the plating/pressing is excellent, and the overall SQ is about as good as it gets without having to pay for 1-Step, IMHO.

+1 Joel, this is exactly where it’s at.

Feist - Metals

You’ve been streaming a bunch of my favorites in a row Jim.   Best thoughts for you and recovery today; onward upward and out of the chair.
@rvpiano, +1 & great to see you back on the thread.
Sheffield D2D Prokofiev “Romeo and Juliet” ballet highlights.
Erich Leinsdorf, Conductor.
sonically amazing.
Has to be heard to be believed

I have that record and I agree.
Apologize to you guys if I’ve posted too much here.   I’m traveling and just catching up on the thread, missing my turntable, buying new speakers….
James, enjoy the travel.  I/we welcome your many posts.

With all of the mentions of Talking Heads, "Buildings and Food" I am going to play that later today.

Fleetwood Mac  "Kiln House"  This reissue is very well done.  I replaced my long lost pp copy with this and am very pleased with it.  Excellent music, no doubt.

Jethro Tull "Benefit"  The Steve Wilson remix issue.  My copy is really good and quiet and the remix is wonderful.  Brings back some awesome memories of "back in the day" (Tull concerts, high school parties...).
thanks James… Skin graft immobile for a few more days…i just have to hang tough…

Great crisp fall day to stare out the window
Record spinning soon to resume, but first a live show here in Asheville.

Los Lobos and Steve Earle

Not too shabby!
Doc Evans / Knocky Parker / Albert Nicholas / Earl Murphy / Gene Juckem – Reminiscing In Dixieland, Stomps And Blues Vol. 1 (Audiophile 1959)
Jim Cullum's Happy Jazz Band – Happy Landing! More Jazz by...S/T (Audiophile 1960?)

This was as dirty a record as I've seen. But the vinyl looked hopeful. Two runs through the ultrasonic and it's a NM.
Neko Case "Hell-On"

First song in and it's clear this lp is recorded much better than I thought when I first bought it. Chalk it up to my decoupling wall mount and other items
One of four new arrivals today…

Leonard Cohen - Thanks for The Dance. Columbia/Sony 2019
Another new one, one of three Eels…

The Eels - The Deconstruction. PIA America 2 10” LP’s 2018
I think you were fortunate to still be able to get those Eels lps at a great price Brian.

I ended up purchasing 5 lps while the sale was on.
I’m diggin ‘Deconstruction’ Steve. Really good.

10” LP’s is a bit odd, but isn’t that just like E? 😁
Enjoy the show waltersalas!

Grateful Dead / Go to heaven
My favorite GD studio album from the "Arista" period
Death Cab For Cutie "The Georgia E.P."
12"/one sided/5 song
original was TAS recommended
I believe this is the first re-issue
Proceeds go to a great cause, IMO.
The Eels - Beautiful Freak. DreamWorks 2015 reissue, EU release, originally 1996

Brings back some awesome memories of "back in the day" (Tull concerts, high school parties...)

Just stumbled into this forum and after seeing this I just had to join
Mammothguy, those are three of my desert island disks. It took me a year after More Song's release before I would give it a second listen. Then I did. Then a third time. Well, you know how this ends..
The Stable 33.33 spindle hole reamer has really come in handy since I bought it.
Ingenious/simple design. Those are the best.
Mary Gauthier "Mercy Now"
2005/ New West

..."fish swim
birds fly
Daddys yell
Mommas cry"...
From first to last….

Eels - Earth To Dora. E Works Records 2020 EU release
REM "Automatic For The People"
1st pressing
Not very analog sounding but some really good songs
Had a hankering to hear it again....

Actually sounding way better than I remembered. !!!
Steve, I liked it straight away. Not sure why, but I wasn’t expecting much (never even streamed it), but it surprised me. Really good mix.
Steve, I haven't played that one in a while. Sounded great!

Vietnam / American dream
Tim @boxer12, I assume and hope you have your B&Ws and Triton stack dialed in now?
I think the REM lp would be a great candidate for a re-master over 2 lps. Maybe @ 45rpm.
