Angel 2LP box, date unknown, but believe the early 60’s per the label. Originally 1960. UK release.

Installed another Puritan 156 today. So I have one on each dedicated line.

Very cool Steve!

Bkeske,
Thanks for recommending the Jerry Garcia Band performance (on YouTube) from 1990! Absolutely a joy to watch that.

Bkeske,
Thanks for recommending the Jerry Garcia Band performance (on YouTube) from 1990! Absolutely a joy to watch that.

Glad you watched and enjoyed it. I received the CD set early this week (have had the cassette version for years now).

I just cannot get over how well Jerry played, and performed overall, during that concert. Amazing. He was having a lot of fun, you could tell.

If a Jerry fan, a must watch IMO.

From earlier when I changed the platter on the 401 to the new Precision Audio Components aluminium platter. It weighs an additional 0.6 pounds over the older PAC and 1.7 pounds more than the original, mostly centered around the spindle. Sounds faster, deeper soundstage with better decay. (More etched...jury is stalling out back with a smoke on this one)

Count Basie ‎– Basie Jam #2 (Pablo 1977)

Doc Evans / Knocky Parker / Albert Nicholas / Earl Murphy / Gene Juckem ‎– Reminiscing In Dixieland, Stomps And Blues Vol. 2 (Audiophile 1959)

10,000 Maniacs - In My Tribe (Elektra 1986)
Noromance,
It sounds like the platter was a worthwhile upgrade! Nice

Black Midi / Cavalcade
Thank you spiritofradio for recommending this band. I'll be buying more from them.

I love this site!
Yes, this is a cool site.  Spun a few and now getting ready for the Olympics Gold Medal mens basketball game.

Rickie Lee Jones  "Pirates"
Joan Armatrading  "Show Some Emotion"
Joan Armatrading  "To The Limit"

Joan is excellent!
@boxer12 I bought it for another 401 as there was a sale at CTC. Turns out it had a note in the box from Ray Clarke pointing out the update so I installed it on the primary.
Thought I’d mention this.................
Last week, I installed a Noteworthy Audio power cord to my Shunyata Hydra V-Ray that powers my amp and subs. It replaced my Anaconda Helix. The positive benefit was immediate. There was no longer a warm/rounded off signature but now a more well defined presentation. The soundstage is huge! This was with zero hours on it. On the second full day, my music friend was over and later that evening he commented...."this is the best I’ve heard your system Steve". I admit, it was sounding awfully good even though I was getting very high readings on my EMI meter through the V-Ray.
So now, I have the Puritan with the Noteworthy. Will report more later.
streaming / server rips as I baby the foot….but taking inspiration from the thread….
@slaw not so much as the mass is centrifugal at the periphery but the boss around the spindle has gone from about an inch to about 2.5 inches.
I'm glad you are enjoying the power cable Steve! Thanks for commenting on it.

Correction. Should read: It weighs an (approx) additional 1 pound over the older PAC and 2.1 pounds more than the original.
Have any of you gone to Joni's webstore? There is a big box there for pre-order that includes an early performance recorded by Jimi Hendrix on his tape machine he brought in. Very cool!!!

The Puritan is getting a lot of good press! They seem reasonably priced too.
