Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
I think we’re (guys of a certain age) going to enjoy this Jackson Browne record.  He still knows how to craft a song around a social or political issue and make it, well, part of your life.  Like “Everyman “ or “Four Way Street”.  Know what I mean?
he said “ desire is the last domino to fall”……

didn’t exactly say about…what….maybe nos tubes ?

ha.

i gotta stream it..
Fantasia On A Theme By Thomas Tallis, Adagio For Strings, Irish Tune From County Derry, Pavane, Gymnopedies Nos.1 And 3
Slatkin
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra
Telerac 1981

one of those audiophile experiences

Better get this one @bkeske, @laviathon

Better get this one @bkeske, @laviathon

I have the 6 CD box set of Leonard Slatkin‘s complete Williams collection. That with the Philharmonia though.
Brian, this is a partially digital production but even so sounds really good.   Only the one track by RVW.  It’s easy listening.  Really easy.

Well, it is Telarc, so digital or not, hard to go wrong with one of their releases. I’ll keep my eye out for that one James. 👍🏼
Police - Outlandos….. this box set is a massive improvement over my memory of the OP discs…..
Tom Waits - Small Change 1976 Asylum Records

Mary Gauthier - Rifles and Rosary Beads 2018
Warming up with Crime of the Century. Wake of the Flood is on deck. Might close out the night with Zoot Simms.
@boxer12.. Assuming that's Ohio Players - Fire! without noticing!

Great album from that era and great guitar.
Hey tgilb,
Fire! is actually the name of the band. Interesting that the name & title are the same as an "Ohio Players" album.

Dub Narcotic / Sideways soul (This album features Jon Spencer)
Had to step away for a while, due the other side starting a business as well as having issues with  her mom. The mother is back down south, whew.  So back in the groove,  I got an email at noon that I didn't open till 3  same day from Dead.net announcing Dicks picks #36, with a 1500 limited run, sold out by 3 pm. Look around with no luck except fleabag at 2x the price. A week later I stop by my LRC , my man has a copy for me! He ordered from 4 different guys and got all! I ended up with#46/1500
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here 1975 Columbia pressing.

Fantastic SQ. I've tried two of their reissues and they didn't compare to the original.
Nice catch j_damon! I have a few early 70's live albums from the GD & like them a lot.

Larkin Grimm / Illusion
Has anyone heard the Tedeschi Trucks Band Layla Revisited? They played the entire record at bonnaroo. They put out a record of the show, it just got here by mail, haven't heard it yet. Has anyone?

re Layla…i also await an opinion…i am not a big Trey fan ( more notes, less feeling ) vs. Trucks who is a Skydog inspired player ( fewer notes, more feeling )….

?
loving the new Jackson B….

exactly how i feel, even War Dept was ALL in !
Just arrived:

Tom Petty - Wildflowers & All The Rest. WB 3LP gatefold. 2020

Wow, sounds incredible. Highly recommended
+1 to Wildflowers. The songs on the third album that didn't make the cut on the original released album are every bit as good as the original songs. Super!
@tgilb

I’m in awe of this whole package. Incredible pressing/remaster/SQ.

This will become an all-time favorite, no doubt.
@tomic601 I am not a big Trey fan either but I had to give this a shot for$39.95
Allman Brothers Band S/T. 2016 Remaster of the 1973 mix that I think was from the Beginnings album.

Steve Earle - Copperhead Road 1988 on Uni Records.

On deck Shawn Colvin & Steve Earle - Colvin & Earle from 2016 on Fantasy Records.
Another new arrival. This pisses me off. From a seller on Discogs, waited weeks to get this shipment, and only one of the three albums I purchased was in the box. Really. Haven’t heard from the seller yet. Once again, I’m getting to the point of not trusting 98% of the sellers on Discogs. Anyway…

Szell conducts Schumann Symphony No. 2 in C Major. The Cleveland Orchestra. Epic 1962. Not in ‘near mint’ condition either. Ugh. Hopefully it plays better than it looks, after a double/triple cleaning.
Roy Harper ‎– Flat Baroque And Berserk (Harvest 1970)

Not the greatest recording but a great album. Includes I Hate the White Man and Another Day. Recommended.
In honor of J.S. Bach on the date of his death.

Sir Neville Marriner conducts Bach - The Art Of Fugue. The Academy Of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Philips 2LP box 1975
@noromance

@bkeske Sounds like kennyosrecods!

Holy smokes, it was! Just heard back from him, he said he was sorry, and asked whether I wanted to see if he still had them, or a refund. I asked for a refund. I paid well for that album that was suppose to be near mint, and it wasn’t close. Like I want the other two now. Ridiculous.
