@slaw

Pour Down Like Silver is my favorite RT lp. I have the Hannibal pressing.

Is that a reissue UK release from the 80’s? Mine is the earlier Island release, although the Shoot Out the Lights copy is Hannibal.

Listening to Rumor and Sigh right now....on cassette 😉
Brian,

I own two copies:

Island ILPS 9348 /US
Hannibal HNBL 4404 /UK

Last time I compared, years ago, the Hannibal won the SQ game
I think the originals were all Island (at least per what is documented on Discogs, even the UK releases), which might make sense as many Fairport releases were Island.
@slaw   The production method uses 10 lacquers that only 500 copies are made from each, totaling 5,000 copies.  At 2,104 it is highly likely that you have 104 from the fifth lacquer.  I hope this makes you feel much better.😊
@mammothguy54,

Thanks buddy. The SQ is really nice, so in this aspect, I can’t complain.
Hey Brian,

Just out of curiosity, is your Island pressing a pink rim?

Upon closer inspection, my Island pressing is a black label US. No wonder, the Hannibal sounded better?
Sparklehorse, "Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain" from the Box of Stars box set from Vinyl Me, Please.
Thanks, Steve. Now that I'm getting my analog rig dialed in, I'll endeavor to be a little more active. Still looking forward to a listening session some fine day. Your mention of "Pour Down Like Silver" earlier is making me want to pull out my Richard and Linda records.

I don’t have it yet, but per the photos it is an all black label with a multi-colored ‘i’. Yes, I assume it is a US pressing.
Bought a SOTA Eclipse package a couple months ago.

Talked to Donna @ SOTA, talked to Bill @ Phoenix Engineering.

Should be a simple exchange. Gonna try it tomorrow on my Classic 3.
Nope, they had an aqua blue circle surround the label which morphed into a palm tree.
The Butterfield Blues Band - Sometimes I Just Feel Like Smilin'. Elektra 1971
Heart, "Heart" (1985). A slightly compressed mid-80’s recording, but there’re way more nuances than expected, perhaps because it's an early pressing/promo copy.  "These Dreams" just floats around me.
Velvet Underground with Nico - S/T ‘banana’. Verve, unknown exact release date for this copy, but pretty sure mid-70’s.
Tonight I started with Honeymoon suite then jimmy hendrix than led Zeppelin then Lit last Tom Petty. The dual 1019 had a good workout Vinyl rules
SXL 6002, "Giselle" by Adam,
