@bdp24 check out RS for new band - Immediate Family w Leland, Waddy, others from the SoCal heyday
Reubent
I have that Marc Cohn album on cassette tape.
Forgot what it sounds like so will drag it out and give it a spin later.
Thanks for the reminder!
@uberwaltz  - I originally had the Marc Cohn album on CD, then got a nice copy on LP this last Christmas. Let me know how it sounds on Cassette Tape. If you don't like it, it's the fault of your media, not my poor taste in music...... ;~)
I saw Marc Cohn with the Blind Boys of Alabama a couple of years ago and it was a wonderful show.  I really enjoyed his debut album and also Burning the Daze, but then he seemed to slip out of view (at least mine).
Got these in this week:

The Teskey Brothers "Live @ The Forum"   I was happy to hear TTB being played over the intercom at Staples today.

Trigger Hippy "S/T" & "Full Circle Then Some" thanks to @uberwaltz
@big_greg  - Marc Cohn will be playing a tiny 300 seat ballroom here in Cincinnati in August. Show is currently a go. I may buy tickets and hope for the best. I really need to see a live show. It's been a long, painful winter/spring without live music.
@tomic601 ,

Packed up the Funk Firm along with two sets of interconnects & sent to Tim today. Gonna use the 38 gauge Audio Note silver wire. I have some in house for my final wire loom on my ET 2.5. The 38 gauge is perfect for that linear tracker.
@reubent All the concerts I had tickets for have been cancelled except two.  One was rescheduled for October at an outdoor venue.  I love the Doobie Brothers, but not enough to sit out in the cold to see them again.  Another (Alanis Morissette, Garbage, and Liz Phair) just got rescheduled for the end of July.  I love Garbage and would love to see them again, but it's at a big amphitheater and I'm not sure it's a good idea to be around that many people yet.  It is outdoors and I have until July 8 to request a refund.  I do miss live music!
Just got my refund for Elton John which had been rescheduled for " sometime 2021".
Err no thanks, cash please.
Slaw
Let me know what you think of Full Circle.
Are all your Trigger Hippy records flat?
@uberwaltz

Hadn’t opened them yet.

@big_greg,

I saw Garbage and Blondie a couple years ago and enjoyed it.... Garbage a little more.
Anybody heard Sonia Dada?
I found it on the reverse side of Marc Cohn tape which means I must have recorded it mid 90,s.
I honestly have no memory of it... Lol.

However it is pretty darn awesome IMHO.
Steve - super news hope your transaction like mine - flawless !!!
i want to find an ET2.5 also
u dog !!!
I am also missing the live stuff - just can’t do it w type 1 and spouse w Lupus like symptoms....

argh!!!!!!!
Damn Yankees ...... S/T.

Not bad but a perfect example of where the sum of the parts did not exceed the parts or even close .
Steve - sorry for the short hand - I am fundamentally lazy...

do you own the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band LP Uncle Charlie and his Dog Teddy ????
@tomic601 ,

Just "Will The Circle Be Unbroken".

BTW, Tim really inspires confidence in talking with him.
@slaw - I will send it to you !!!! One of the 110 in the Ruthless Reubent cull list !!!!
@uberwaltz,

Opened up the two Trigger Hippy lps, "S/T" looks to be somewhat warped and a dull black, the other looks flat and a shiny black. Two different labels.
Slaw.
So it seems the st pressings were all affected possibly?
That was what I was curious on and if the follow up was better before I bought it.
Thank you sir!
Uber - that would be quite the haul
!!!

this one is for you

Deep Purple- Who Do We Think We Are ( VG+ in a paper Warner / Reprise “ Loss Leader “ sleeve...
Mahavishnu Orchestra Live - Between Nothingness & Eternity. Recorded live in Central Park. CBS. 1973
Spirit - James this one for you !

Return to Forever - Musicmagic

so far minty....
Steve Earle "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive"

I really doubt if I will either
Shakti w/John McLaughlin - Natural Elements. Columbia. 1977.

Have not listened to this in a while. Sounds good.
Listening to SE "INGOOTWA" , it's a much more reflective album than the other earlier two from last weekend. I found myself getting into it though.

Hank Williams: "No matter how I struggle and strive, I'll never get out of this world alive." Were truer words ever spoken?

@tomic601, I've been watching all of Leland Sklar's YouTube videos, including those regarding The Immediate Family. Though I think highly of Sklar as a bassist, I don't care at all for TIF. I felt the same about the albums Sklar, Russ Kunkel, Danny Kortchmar, and Craig Doerge made in the 1970's, when they were known as The Section. Good musicians, not good music. Happens all the time. ;-)

@bdp24 ,

Most if not all of the guys you mentioned were James Taylor' staple musicians.

Not just for James Taylor @slaw, but also Jackson Browne, Carole King, and other L.A. singer/songwriters. Carole was the piano player in James’ band until Tapestry went to number 1! It stayed there for about a year, iirc.

The Immediate Family is Leland, Kunkel, Kootchmar, and guitarist Waddy Wachtel. Good musicians (though I don't care for Wachtel's guitar style), but not imo good songwriters or singers. It's like a body with no head. ;-)

@tomic601 +1 on Splendido Hotel.
Great album.   Do you know the hotel?

Anyway,

2019 Remaster on Craft Recordings

Guys,

Sorry for arriving late to the party tonight. Just have time for one glass of wine, and a record. On the TT........

Rare Earth - "Ecology"

Man, their version of "Losing You" rocks, as does the whole record. Loved it since the '70s.
