Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Jennifer Warnes / Another Time, Another Place
2019 Porch Light LLC / BMC Impex Records

@mammothguy54 @boxer12  Yeah, my hair was like the guy’s in the reddish brown jacket standing next to him.  + 1 on hair.

Humble Pie - "Rockin' the Fillmore"

Last of the Plaid Room Records haul.....

td_dayton, +1 for mentioning "alabaster deplume". That looks interesting indeed

Bryan Ferry / Boys & Girls

+1 for "Manifesto" (I do agree it could have been recorded better though)

Roxy Music / Avalon

Eurythmics-Sweet Dreams(Are Made Of This) Side B

William Ackerman- Childhood And Memory Side 1

Tony Bennett-Bennett/Berlin Side 2 SQ Audiophile

The Moody Blues-The Other Side Of Life Side 1

Roxy Music-Manifesto-West Side SQ Audiophile*

Arnold Bax-English String Quartet(Chandos ABRD 1113) Side 2 SQ Audiophile

Earl Klugh-Heart String Side 1 SQ Audiophile

The Mama’s And The Papa’s-If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears Side 2

All the recordings SQ were above average with the exception of Mama’s/Papa’s. The mono version might sound better? Manifesto* was the weakest of the Audiophile SQ group. Clarity and Resolution was there but it sounded a little "sleepy" not sure if mine is a 1st pressing(no barcode). The all digital Bennett/Berlin was the SQ champ with no edginess or a mechanical digital sound. White Christmas with Dexter Gordon is sublime, Ralph Sharon exclusively plays a Bosendorfer and Bennett/Berlin was mastered by Bob Ludwig.

Mammothguy,

LOL, My hair is almost identical to that now... just a little thinner on top. My wife likes it (or at least tolerates it).

It's Immaterial / Life's hard & then you die

Bull Angus, the guy in the green jacket, almost identical to my hair around 1979.  Oh well, the girls liked it.  Worked often for me...😁

@slaw It won’t be the same without you! Happy Holiday’s, stay safe, hurry back.

I've been blowin' it out this weekend

No kidding! Vinyl Rules!

Steve, All the best to you!

Brian, Glad you enjoyed "Six Organs Of Admittance"

Death Vessel / Stay Close

@slaw

Steve, We will sure miss you. Check in when you can to make sure we’re not going digital or anything.  Hang in there and have a Merry Christmas.

James

Now here’s one we would have just loved to even know about back in Junior High days. Double lead guitars, Grand Funk intensity, Blood Sweat and Tears talent:

Bull Angus
Eponymous

Mercury 1971

Inside the gatefold, below the credits read:

“Producer’s Note: Riff-rock should be played loud.

(Stereo Note: Larry’s the guitar on the left. Dino’s on the right.)

A PRODUCT OF INFINITY”

And you really should see the hair…

@slaw   Best to you Steve, you are doing the right thing in life.

Happy New Year, wishing you the best of health and prosperity for 2022.

Georgia Blue might be one of my favorite records of 2021. I almost passed it by. Glad I didn't.

Sonny Rollins-Saxophone Colossus and More 1975 Prestige Mono Comp

Coltrane-A Love Supreme (Live in Seattle) Impulse 2021

Fairport Convention - S/T (What We Did On Our Holiday, UK). A&M reissue, possibly mid-70’s, originally 1969

Safe travels, @slaw

Been streaming holiday tunes and wrapping gifts today.

A Christmas Gift from Phil Spector

Holly Cole - Baby, It's Cold Outside

Old 97s - Love The Holidays

Hall & Oates - Home For Christmas

Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong (a family fav, 2nd only to Guaraldi's Charlie Brown)

@spiritofradio  - Thanks. I believe it is clipping of the vocal and guitar that I'm hearing now that I go back and listen. Thanks for confirming this...

Well, after streaming all day, checking out music, time for some vinyl.

Richard and Linda Thompson - Pour Down Like Silver. Island 1975

I'll be on a musical hyatis. Doin' the 24/7 thang for several weeks

@tomic601

Your buddy is getting a great TT Jim. I hope he realizes the work you put into it. I’m sure he does 👍🏼

I guess  @big_greg and I can still consider you a part of the SOTA posse regardless 😉

@spiritofradio You know, the sobering part is realizing we ain’t too far behind. But, that makes you even that much more grateful.

Cherish the memories;-)

…well, the Sapphire has started the journey to my buddy in AZ. I wish that turntable could talk. I suspect given it riches to tattered rags to refurbishment back where it was born, it is a story much like Accordion Crimes by E. Anne Proulx……

I am a robot with a soft spot
