Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Bob Dylan - Biograph.  This is a five disc box set that I have only listened to once a few years ago.  Sound quality is surprisingly excellent.

Elton John / Tumbleweed Connection
1970 UNI

”This album is available on cassette and 8 track”. 😎

John McLaughlin makes Jimi Hendrix bupkus.

Change my mind.

Jimi is very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very excellent.

McLaughlin is sublime.

*** Musically speaking. ***  Enjoy both fer sure.

Goldfinger in TT5 with an Innovation on a Panzer stand. Yeah it struck me as a dubious marketing move on the part of Clearaudio.

New to me Steve. I've had it for a couple of months but just opened it up tonight.

Steve, I got that Robert Cray album, Analogue Productions, about 1 1/2 years ago.  It's quite good, musically of course, and the AP issue for sure.

Back to vinyl. I just swapped in the Van Den Hul Crimson XGW Stradivarius. Robert Cray - Strong Persuader, Analogue Productions pressing.

J. J. Cale, Troubadour

Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Sparkle Hard

The Beatles, Let It Be

The Beatles, The White Album

Thanks Joel. I resemble that remark!

edit: A co-worker brought me a nice size box of vinyl last week. Several Wishbone Ash pp in the pile.

Greg, I have a few copies of On Every Street. Love the lp!.I remember comparing years ago. Have the op/EU copy too.

Chris, I’m learning that "flavor" thing more than ever now on my streaming system. It’s evolved more that ever. Currently using the Tannoy Gold 7 and Love that dual concentric driver!

Thanks Tim.

Thanks for the nice comments on the VAC, everyone. It makes some lovely music.

@slaw

Steve, I sold the Luxman to a lucky fellow in California. I have nothing but great things to say about it. So many flavors of ice cream in this hobby. Let's just say the VAC is a flavor that I really, really enjoy! Glad you'll be returning home soon.

Steve, face it, you are an addict.  But it's a really good addiction.  Enjoy them all.

After a movie tonight with my wife, this is what I have on deck for the turntable.

Annie Lennox - Diva   Just got this and have listened to it once.  Have to play it again.  What a fabulous voice she has and what a great album.

The Motels - S/T   Got this about 6 weeks ago.  Love it, just awesome.  Have to play it again before filing it with my other Motels albums.

Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason, 45rpm reissue.  Seems like that will be a wonderful way to end the evening before bedtime.  Just float upstairs and drift to sleep.

Enjoy the music tonight, all.

I just bought a big pile of records and CDs at the local record store. At the moment however I am listening to one of those little silver discs, Dire Straits - On Every Street. I bought a couple of vinyl copies and they both sounded like crud, very noisy. The CD actually sounds very good. I think this is the only Dire Straits that MOFI didn't do on vinyl. Maybe a 45 RPM version could overcome the limitations of putting that long of an album (60 minutes) on one record. I know it's not their best, but I like this album.

Looks like I'll return home in a couple weeks. Moved some of the lps I've bought over the last 3 months and I surprised myself in how many.

@waltersalas congrats, that’s a dream piece!

Jackie McLean - Swing, Swang, Swingin' 2009 Music Matters 45rpm

Miles Davis - Filles De Kilimanjaro 2015 Mofi 45rpm

@waltersalas

Ben Webster -- "King of the Tenors"

Rolling Stones -- "Exile on Main Street"

Oliver Nelson -- "Straight Ahead"

Very nice day of spinning records and listening through my newest love interest, the VAC Renaiisance phono stage SE. Just wonderful sound!

@bkeske

That's an interesting observation as to your tube issue Brian. I'd trust your instinct.

The Allman Brothers Band at Fillmore East. Capricorn reissue, mid 70’s 2LP gatefold, originally 1971

Tom Petty - Wildflowers and All The Rest. Warner Records reissue/remaster  3LP gatefold 2020

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band / Live In New York City
2001 Columbia

I’m not a big fan of the boss or live rock recordings but this one is at times, exceptional.

@boxer12

Yep, was going to replace it this year, but it was there in the basement as winter came on, and used it again anyway.

And yea, I know what you mean, I’m trying to take care of my body a little better as I get older, but yea, probably worry more about my equipment 😁

Think I’ll reset my other two 12ax7’s. I’m really thinking the humidifier may have been the culprit.

If that thing had any effect on my Belles 400A failing….well….that is even more disturbing in hindsight.

Good idea replacing that at some point Brian. I stopped burning incense (or anything else LOL) in the music room because I was worried about what the smoke residue could do. Strange I'm more concerned about the electronics than my own body though 🤔
