Just got a new phono preamp today: Sutherland 20/20. Blown away by it. Listening to some of my favorite records and it’s like hearing them for the first time. Among others, played Debussy Nocturnes with Bernard Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra from 1981. Magical!

I’m looking forward to the Thick As reissue, my copy’s running some mileage. I hope they get it right. That Steven Wilson Aqualung re, they got it right.

+1 on Thick As A Brick

I had just played my early Reprise Records copy and thought the SQ was excellent and it has held up well over the years with minimal noise.

I noticed there is a 50th anniversary version coming out but I'm skeptical that it won't match up to the original pressings. I'll wait for some reviews.

All the Brasil 66 albums have fantastic recording engineering , it's fortunate that 3 of their releases were pressed by Speakers Corner .

I'm not complaining Brian, the Noteworthy's are wonderful. I do wish I could have heard them though.

That’s too bad Steve. Wonder what his reasoning is. I believe his plugs are Furutech, but he brands them.

I emailed him about it and his response was he didn't offer them, Brian.

Good question. I bet he would get some 20 amp plugs. It is odd it isn’t an option though. All mine are 15 amp.

Brian,

I was almost ready to go for some of Danny's cords but he didn't offer 20 amp IEC, so I went with Noteworthy Audio. He may now.

@slaw

Yep Steve. My first foray into more expensive power cords. After much deliberation, I decided to go with GR Reasearch B16’s. Knowing Danny creates bargain price products of very good quality, I jumped on his offerings. Really quite a good deal for 2 4’ and 1 6’ length. I can see ordering a couple more for the DAC and CD transport.

Danny says 200 hours break-in, but right off the bat are more detailed and revealing, thus more ‘air’ in the presentation. I know that Szell album well, and although it’s an incredible recording, is a bit ‘soft’ overall. Played the album an hour before these arrived, and then after, and yea, it’s noticeable in a good way. Will be interesting to see how things change during break-in.

Just recieved some new power cords for my preamp and mono amps, so playing something I know well. Sounds very nice already.

@bkeske

Brian, answer to your question.  I sent the final check just a few days ago.  The speakers are just about completed and are scheduled to ship later next week.  I assume about a week of shipping time so I should receive them around July 15th or so.  This has been an exceptionally long order due to Lou Hinkley (owner of Daedalus Audio) taking on the challenge of promoting the upcoming Pacific Audio Fest, scheduled for the end of July.  I think that probably cost me an additional 2 months on this order.  Oh well, at least I have had a good set of speakers during this entire time.  I'll be shipping my current speakers to TMR (The Music Room, in Colorado) on a consignment sales agreement.  That should get me a solid sales price, even after their fees, and no hassles on my part.

I am really looking forward to the new speakers.  Thank you for inquiring and having me on your mind.

@mammothguy54

Joel, when are you expecting your new speakers? They have not arrived yet have they?
