@noromance

Man Brian, I have great respect and interest in your collection 👍🏼

Good to see you spinning The Gabrieli Quartet as well. A very nice LP.

George Szell conducts Dvořák - The Three Great Symphonies

  • Symphony No. 7 In D Minor, Op. 70 (Formerly No. 2)
  • Symphony No. 8 In G Minor, Op. 88 (Formerly No. 4)
  • Symphony No. 9 In E Minor, Op. 95 ("From The New World") (Formerly No. 5)

The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks 3LP box 1970

Haywood Henry Featuring Joe Newman And Hank Jones – The Gentle Monster (Uptown 1983)

Superb.

@slaw

How's the pressing quality on Let Them Eat Vinyl label Spencer?

I don't whether to blame the master or the pressing, but it's a pretty lousy sounding record of a fun, historic-ish performance. You'd think an FM broadcast would have good mics, etc....so I dunno. Perhaps should have let them eat cake?

The Beatles - Help!

1965/2009 Remaster - Parlophone Canada

The album was released during their more folky period just before Rubber Soul so it is beyond me why they would have included Dizzy Miss Lizzie on the album. It's hard to believe that they didn't have another song that would have better fit the mold of the album.

The Gabrieli Quartet, Britten, Bridge – Fantasy Quartet / Novelletten For String Quartet / Three Idylls For String Quartet

perfect background while I cook "Chicken Catastrophe & Eggs Overwhelming"

@slaw thanks for the Calexication. Planning to stream "Carried to Dust" later.

Yes, I found some NOS cables no longer made, that I have always admired by Tel Wire. Steve Dobbins @xactaudio hooked me up and was fantastic to work with. He set me up with HC power cable w/20amp connector for my Krell, 2 other PCs, pair of XLR cables for phono>pre, & speaker cables.

Dire Straits / S-T
1978 Warner Bros.

Really a great LP. SQ, near or at wow level. “Six Blade Knife”, more wow.

Gerry Rafferty / City To City
1978 United Artists

Played the dickens out of this back in the day and it just keeps sounding better and better.

Charlie / No Second Chance
1977 Janus

A favorite record, extra fun with headphones.

Wings / Wings At The Speed Of Sound
1976 Capitol

Excellent LP, SQ. Uncontrollable urge to crank it up for “Beware My Love”.

@reubent - "Spike" is still one of my favorites from Elvis Costello

McDonald & Giles / ST

The Crusaders - Scratch (live), nice Japanese pressing.

@slaw Steve I would second Mingus Ah Um.

István Kertész conducts Dvořák - Symphony No. 5 In F Major / Overture "My Home". The London Symphony Orchestra. London 1967

Steve, I agree that "Carried to Dust" is a great album. +1 for "Reflections" as well.

Logan Sama / Fabriclive.83    (again...)

Jean Martinon conducts Saint-Saëns - Symphonies - No. 1 In E Flat & No. 2 In A Minor. Orchestre National de la RTF. Angel 1974
