Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

mutton birds, rain steam & speed--plaintive jangly nz folkrock; closer in feel to the go-betweens than to the flying nun bands, but would appeal to fans of either.

meat puppets, monsters--one of the great air guitar records

dillard and clark, through the morning, through the night--not as good overall as the first record, but "polly" is a stone classic

Milt Jackson-Born Free(Limelight LS-86045) Side 2

Stan Rogers-Between The Breaks...Live! Second Set SQ Audiophile

Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr.-I Hope We Get To Love In Time Side A

Led Zeppelin-In Through The Outdoor Side 2

Fathers & Sons-ST Side 1

Randy Travis-No Holdin’ Back Side 2

Supertramp-Paris Side 4 SQ Audiophile

Art Farmer-To Duke With Love Side 2 SQ*

Both "live" albums had a natural SQ that appear to have very little, if any touch ups? Tough to call a winner here. Paris was very dynamic with natural vocals. Rogers had a more intimate small venue feel. If Art Farmer had a slightly more laidback perspective it would have Audiophile SQ status.

@noromance   Thx for taking your time to reply. I'm at the point where being very selective is needed in keeping my vinyl collection in order.

@noromance

I have never heard that vinyl Brian. Seen it, but never purchased it.

I could stream it, probably, but that may not be a good indicator of the vinyl SQ.

@dayglow The du Pre is a fine album. Recording is very good especially in the slower movements. Warm and rich with fine cello rasp. There are a few allegro parts in the Saint-Saëns that are a little more congested than I’d like but all in all, it’s fine.

@photodusty

Ha! Very much agree with you there. Really happy with mine as well.

pretty much everything sounds great now that I have the Hagerman trumpet. 😎
