Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

It's so cool that this same music that excited me 50 years ago......still does!

Singleton Palmer and His Dixieland Band - Dixie By Gaslight (Norman 1961)

I love early recordings of Dixieland jazz–this one is wonderful–recorded live and sounding superb on the idler.

Woodstock Mountains - More Music From Mud Acres (Rounder 1977)

Gordon Bok, Ann Mayo Muir, Ed Trickett - The Ways Of Man (Folk-Legacy 1978)

Solid recordings and good music. Sounds better than almost everything I've ever heard at shows.

Doc Evans And His Dixieland Band - Muskrat Ramble (Audiophile 1959)

Lost Nation String Band - Lost Nation String Band (Dodo 1982)

Shawn Colvin "Steady On"

1989/CBS

my go to lp back in the day to compare system changes...I own three copies. One is the 45RPM/EP

@slaw...you mention a 45RPM version?  Is this just the single "Steady On" or the album?  I'm a HUGE Shawn Colvin fan and do not see that this was ever done as a complete album on 45RPM?  I have everything she's ever done and would like to get this if it's a full album.  I have the 30th Anniversary Acoustic version.

"Fat City" is my favorite of hers, but "Steady On" is great too.

Thanks!

@slaw...sorry for the confusion.  I saw your EP reference, but that was never done as an EP.  There are (2) maxi-singles, one from Holland and one from the UK.  One has the song "Stranded", the other has "Something To Believe In" and both have a "live" version of "Steady On" and the studio version, just (3) songs each.  EP's usually have 3 or 4 songs per side.

What songs are on the EP?

Toulouse Street by the Doobie Brothers

Countdown to Ecstasy by Steely Dan

Abbey Road by the Beatles

Look Sharp by Joe Jackson

Does anyone here own the original and the new remaster of Tracy’s first album? Wondering if the new one is a meaningful upgrade from the original which is great by memory.

Getting ready to put on...
