For me its the first or very early LP's of: Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South" Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer" and, Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
Arooj Aftab - Vulture Prince. I love it. I bought it new and have played only LP#1. Other than the fact that I have never seen so much dust/paper particulates on a new LP from a paper inner sleeve, it plays pretty well. The LP looked like it had been dipped into a paper shredder at the factory!
Steely Dan-The Royal Scam Side B(ABCD-831 "sunburst label") SQ*
Nat King Cole-At The Sands(SMAS 2434) Side 2
Pink Floyd-A Momentary Lapse Of Reason Side 1 SQ*
Tania Maria-Come With Me(CJP-200) Side 1 SQ Audiophile
The Who-Tommy(35MM 0071 Japanese) Side 4 SQ*
Judy Collins-Colors Of The Day Side 2 SQ Audiophile
Frank Morgan-Yardbird Suite Side 2 SQ Audiophile
With 3 Audiophile SQ and 3 SQ*(near misses) makes for a great session. Larson condition was VG+ at best, need a better copy of this overlooked recording. Nat was M- even my Stereo version had a sharp(directional) mono feel. A toss up between Morgan/Collins and Tania Maria. I can't pick a winner due to the power being "lackluster"(not at best). Select all 3 and it's a win/win on sonics/content.
The Joni Mitchell approved/Bernie Grundman mastered early Asylum LP's (after Blue). I can't wait anymore for the MFSL SACD's & Court & Spark 45rpm One-Step. SACD's were paid for back in January (Blue & Ladies of the Canyon).
I don't know how MoFi can improve on these LP's. Looking forward when the SACD's actually ship....not LOL !😡
Steven Wilson: The Harmony Codex sounds good streaming in all formats I’ve heard so far. This is an artist AND an expert producer. It was bound to sound good. I bought the LP. Was it worth it? Yes. It sounds even better than the streaming version.
