Recorded in 1973 and pressed by JVC Mastering Center. Bass and Cello have unbelievable inner detail. This two record set is well worth the outlay. Now, I need to find my copy of Midnight Sugar.

I also have ripped the Blow Up CD ( purchased prior to discovering the 45RPM) to my streamer and the CD sounds great, but lacks the last bit of inner detail, space and musicality, but that’s on my system. Great Japanese jazz..great jazz..

Isao Suzuki died of/with Covid in 2022.

Decided to mount my mono cartridge, as my mono LP’s are begging to be played.

Lefty was the only recording with average SQ. SQ* Weisberg had slightly excessive treble energy. With 5/8 recording having Audiophile SQ made for a great night but Supertramp was the runaway SQ champ leaving Royal a distant 2nd.

Power quality was not at its best all recordings have sounded better in previous playbacks. Several days of storms and minor flooding in the area might have an effect on power quality. Very close between Blast! and Soft Shoes with better power and longer power amp warm up I could pick a winner but tonight a tie. Neither recording is close to demo disc status just a solid 4.5/5

That Beecham Scheherazade LP is pretty darn good. First time I listened to it as I had not mounted my mono cart in a while. Good stuff.
