Never Dreamed you would leave me in the Summer....Stevie Wonder wrote it ,but I like the Joan Biaz  version.
Not easy - there are so many - but forced to choose, it would be Angel from Montgomery, sung by Bonnie Raitt.  Fabulous.
I think it's "White Wedding" by Billy Idol. Or maybe "Alone Again Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan.
It's a toss up. You decide.
Yesterday, the Beatles, when I was 9

J.J.CALE-Cloudy Day, when I was much bigger

1. Somewhere - West Side Story -L. Bernstein
2. Long long time - Linda Ronstadt
3. You take my breath away - Eva Cassidy
4. Silver Springs - Stevie Nicks - "The Dance" reunion version
Madame George from Astral Weeks - Van Morrison

Wicked Game - Chris Isaak

Night Swimming and Rock, both on Automatic for the People - REM

Moon River - Mancini and Mercer, the demo tape. It eclipses every other version of the song by miles in its simplicity, authenticty and sincerity.

I assume that  the OP actually meant most touching rather than touchy song.
One I'm thinking of right now is "Life's What You Make It" by Talk Talk.

Eva Cassidy’s  ‘I know you by heart’.  Helped me get through the death of my husband this year.  Warning: it’s cathartic if you are in the mood!
