UPDATE. ARC REF 6 upgrade to 6SE.

Well Audio Research received my Ref 6 on Tuesday June 13 and just got an Email from ARC that my REF 6 is all complete and it is now upgraded to the 6SE and went through sonic evaluation yesterday. It will burn in over the weekend. And have its final QA test early next week. And should be back on its way to me by mid next week. All I can say is great turn around time from ARC. Can’t wait to hook it up with my new REF 750s.

Oh that is great to hear for their service turn around.  Sending positive vibes to MN for that team for whoever is taking over the helm.  I didn't realize they were actually doing the upgrade, I thought they just provided a new 6SE and then the 6 was checked out and offered to a dealer as CPO.

On another note, you are a brave man with those 750s!  WOW...cannot imagine what that must be like?

I read in another thread that you had WA Alexia 2...still got those or did you move up the line?

I have Sophia 1 and heard Sasha 1 at a friends this week and was very impressed.  I feel like Sasha 2 may be my best bet but really love the DAWs.  I cannot afford the Alexia 2 or V.  ARC confirmed that the Alexia 1 won't work for me with a REF75SE....that all that's written about that speaker's load is correct and my amp will not be happy nor will I if I try to turn it up to loud volumes.

Very fast turnaround especially considering the recent sale of ARC congrats trackman!

@dhite71   Hi. No I never owned any WA at all. I own the B&W Matrix 800s.  Love them to death.  Do own the REF 750se ?

I am really keen to understand the sound difference from the Ref 6 (which is my current preamp)

@chilli42  They have a lot of information on ref 6SE online. All big improvements bringing it more closer to the Ref 10. What are ur components and speakers ? It’s going to be more of a challenge to hear the difference between my 6 to 6 se. Because I was using a Krell FPB 600 with the ref 6. Now I’ll be using ARC Ref 750s.
