Tune-In Stations With Great Sound

Most of us use a streamer (much better sound than a PC/laptop... iPad) and Qobuz... There are thousands of internet channels with rebook CD quality sound or better. The better your streamer / system the better sound you will hear. 

Go for the stations with the highest bit rate.  WFMT here in Chicago broadcasts at 320 bps and sounds a lot better than the analog feed.  Somehow Radio Venice, at 128 bps, manages to sound excellent as well

I use tune radio to find new music then put it in Tidal playlists. WXRT Chicago is on of our family’s favorites.

I do stream using a Node Icon and Tidal, but for music discovery and listening throughout the day, I like ‘radio’. Keeping it to Tune-In via the Bluesound app makes it a whole lot easier for my wife to navigate.

Yes- WXRT is one I’ve found also and like.

I don’t know about comparative anything on TuneIn, but for content, JazzFM91 Toronto is about all I listen to.

I have met their engineer (and some of their on air personalities) and they really pay attention to their sound quality

I find for New Wave fans like my wife, the station with decent sound and the most varied playlist is 80s80s Wave.

I put on the Toronto jazz station Erik recommended and was shocked! to hear a commercial for KEF speakers. I haven’t heard a commercial for audio equipment in years…

Radio Venice is THE best sounding classical feed on TuneIn. I listen to it each day for hours, as I work from home. It also has by far the finest playlist of any classical stream, again by a huge margin.

I thought Tune In sounded pretty dull.  I have the apps to a few of my favorite stations on my phone and tablet.  I will use them at work or sometimes plug the phone into my DAC. 

I mainly use my Vault's Audicy app for radio lately. Sounds pretty good. I think there is an Audicy app for PC and Mac too
