This thread is intended for those who are actually using the new SR Purple Fuses. In my system, they are a significant improvement over the SR Orange fuses. What are your impressions?
I am a relatively new audiophile and still very much learning how to listen and how to tweet, but I have been a fast study. The good news is that I am only 41, which I perceive is pretty young for this hobby. I think I have settled on my system components (for now), so just trying to learn about the differences fuses can make. The one question I am trying to understand is what fuses make the biggest impact? Do they follow the same rules as the power cables, seems the DAC/ Pre-amp was most beneficial to an upgraded cable. Or is it the mono block amplifiers where there is the most current flow. Also do people upgrade just the main power fuse, or any other “rail” fuses that may exist inside the boxes.
Quantum Science Audio light blue fuse; $71, what a bargain!
It’s one of the threads that the moderators took down for reasons some of us thought rather unfair.
I’m still working on getting my SR Purp, but I do have 2 QSA Light Blue, if this is the fuse you’re talking about. It is very good. And some say it is/was better than the SR Orange. To my rig it sounded fantastic for only $71 bucks each.
Is it better than the the SR Purp? Not according to oregonpapa, as he has compared the QSA Light Blue to the QSA Yellow at $213, and the QSA Yellow to the SR Purp at $200 and found them wanting compared to the SR Purp. And as others have mentioned here also.
"I have to tell you that I submitted your lengthy, and somewhat ridiculous, review of the SR Purples to the "Audio Bullsh!t" group, and, so far, 36 commenters have made you quite the laughing stock."
Beautiful.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I doubt very highly that @oregonpapa is going to stay up at night worrying about that....
Love my SR Purple fuse
Best $200 upgrade I ever made.
@jnorris2005, your post above is one of the most astonishingly immature and childish things I have ever read. Guess you showed him, LOL! *shakes head* WOW.
@coralkongI am happy that your $200 fuse made such an improvement in your system. Now take that one out and put in a $3 Littelfuse and re-evaluate. Chances are you won't hear a difference. The lack of any form of common-sense regarding boutique fuses is stunning.
"I am happy that your $200 fuse made such an improvement in your system. Now take that one out and put in a $3 Littelfuse and re-evaluate. Chances are you won't hear a difference."
I've done that. A couple of times, actually.
I can absolutely hear a difference.
If you'd like a demonstration, come on over and bring a six pack.
We can swap cables back and forth, too. (Won't THAT blow your mind!)
In the meantime, the system, thanks to the three well broken in SR Purple fuses, and some other unmentionables, is sounding better than ever. I invited Peter, Paul, and Mary over last night. It was as though I could reach out and touch them. Here’s a sample for your enjoyment. Egad, this even sounds great on my desktop Audioengine A2+ speakers.
My God! Even through the hundreds of standard fuses, thousands of miles of cheap ethernet cables, and hundreds of vendor-supplied power cables between your system and mine I can hear the improvement wrought from the SR Purple Fuses!

Hallelujah!!! It's the second coming.
NO!! but wait!! I heard from the source there's a new Aqua SR fuse in the beta testing stage, can you confirm Frank?
I only stand use qsa red/black fuse in all my component. When other company learn to develop technology to compete with this quality? Maybe company need more rd money? Red black like King Kong swing free uninhibit from building with girl.

You need to get the facts right before you start slinging that sort of mud at anyone. You have lost the plot and need to get a handle on yourself buddy, I have never owned or reviewed an SR Purple fuse anywhere at any time, I dare you to put up or point to a link where I have.
It is your buddy coralkong that posted this, and ID'd jnorris2005 that posted above and got deleted, that got under your skin, not me. You need to turn your fuse around, before she blows Andy

I'm not saying that you've reviewed SR Purple fuses. Where did you get that idea?
I stand pat on your continual posts demeaning, bullying, and disparaging other members here. A simple look at your cumulative posts in your profile says it all.
And by the way Andy ... that's MISTER Buddy to you, pal.
Well crap Andy, are you lookin' for a little ras-ma-taz? I'll Be your Huckleberry.
"Hell Doc I have all kinds of friends". Doc: "I don't"'
It's pretty simple QUIT arguing with the OP and everyone else.
I understand there is a depression cycle, then a manic cycle. Opposite ends of the poles. IF you stay on your meds, you'll hit the middle and start acting like everyone else. Right now your in the BUTTHOLE cycle. I'm not sure where that is at on the Bi-polar scale, but I'd up the dosage just a tad. Drink plenty of water too, that always helps..
Please pay the receptionist on the way out.
BTW We have a little survey we'd like you to sign on the WAY OUT. Don't worry we filled it out for you. Just sign on the dotted line.. That little white coat the guys are holding was specially made just for you.. The real long sleeves with straps on the ends are all the rage.
We also have a special today a "twofer" Buy one Lobotomy and get the second one for half off. Bring a friend (if you have any). Lookin' forward to seeing you the next time. Ya'll come back now, Hear!!
OP don't worry if they close the thread again. They have monitor on Andy when the med hit a certain level, the "all clear" message will go out and they will re open the thread automatically. It's one of the new features.
Now if we can just get Andy to insert the monitoring PROBE in the correct orifice.
AND leave the cat alone Andy. That's just not right even if she does perrrrr!!
Now I understand you, Andy. This brings it all into focus. Nothing else needs to be said. From this point on, I will be addressing you as "Karen." *lol*
So, I have had the purple fuses in for a couple of weeks now. Right out of the box the purple fuses bested the SR Orange fuses. I replaced the orange ones one at a time starting in my Simaudio W -8 amp.
There was greater detail and clarity over the orange fuse , no harshness what so ever. The music seemed more natural is the best way I can describe it. Better soundstage and instrument separation also.
More musical nirvana with the Purples in the system.
I’ll put SR Purple ahead of a QSA violet fuse. Took a while to break in, but this is the best fuse I’ve heard and I’m not paying 7x the price for a QSA red
Hey cd45123,
When you get a chance let us know how the SR Purp is burning in since your last report. What piece(s) of gear you're using it/them in, and how many per piece(s) of gear you're using it/them in.
@andypandy@amplifierdudeare new members that are, well jerks. They offer nothing and are confrontational pinheads that should be culled from our ranks.
Shoot I got disappeared again. Let me try this again. The ordained butt kings need to stop. There that should work. :-) I don't want to bring bad Karma, so no names.
Did "G" get a time out or is he learning to be a gentleman? He ain't no dummy you know.
I just want to get my C2500 back so I can put a fuse in it.. I got two orange fuses for 75.00. The new PC weaves I've never got to use on that Preamp.
These guys creating profiles to dog pile this discussion forum belong to an audiophile hate group on Facebook; literally a group dedicated to laughing at people with much better stereos than they can afford, with technologies they fail to comprehend. And being insecure they imagine we too are insecure and so fear what they think. Their intention is to derail this thread and get it deleted. Perhaps they are the ones who will get deleted?
Well, in that case, it looks as though I owe "andypandy" a big apology. From now on, I’ll be referring to you as "Karen." The question you should be asking yourself is this: Why would someone derive pleasure out of demeaning others to the point of ridiculing them on another site and have "over 50 people laughing" at them, and then come into this forum to report the results? Look inward, my friend. Look inward.
@thecarpathian Carp ... these guys are killing me. I’m dying laughing. Maybe I have a stand-up comedian career looming in my future.
This putz, jnorris2005, actually admits that he slandered me on another audio site. He and his buddies have no idea what I and a few others here on A’gon are experiencing with their audio systems.
With the new AC filtration systems installed at the speakers, in combination with the latest innovation with the new fuses, while listening to master tape vocal recordings, you CAN actually "see" facial expressions ... especially while sitting in the dark (they will never understand this comment either).
The entire house circuit is now treated with products, including the new SR Purple Fuses, that lower AC noise starting at the circuit breaker box, and ending up at the speaker binding posts. The final result is amazing, to say the least.
