Send Inlets to be Cryoed

Anyone removed their component inlets and sent them out to be cryoed?  Furutech inlets fit nothing of mine and I'm not taking a drill or Dremmel to my gear to make them fit. I thought about removing the existing inlets and having them cryoed. Anyone done this, or replaced stock inlets with upgrades?  How were the results?  Thanks.

Where is geoffkait when you need him? Apparently he has a life. Anyway he swears by it & in at least one of his 11,000+ posts (could be more, I haven't read all of them) he mentions doing this. I don't know how that process compares with what Synergistic Research does, but what they do is fantastic.
I’d send the whole damn thing out to be croyod. You can’t listen to it anyway if the inlets are missing. Say what the hell.
I'm probably going to regret asking this, but geoff are you pulling my leg?  Wotchu talkin' bout?  Should I send my speakers to be cryoed?

I say to hech with Furutech. Just remove and cryo the originals for like $10 each and get same performance (or better) without having to take a cutting torch to your chassis.
Huh? You can cryo the whole thing for less than the cost of the inlets. And the cables. Say what the hell.

Some parts of some component should not be cryoed and will cause damage. Unfortunately, I no longer remember which parts. I'd run that question by alan m. kafton / audio excellence az, inc.

Meitner cryos the whole component. Always has. Apparently without any problems. I’d opine there is more risk involved in shipping the component than in cryoing it. You could consult with any one of a number of cryo labs to see what they say as they have had experience with this issue.

No, more like the Beatles’ Glass Onion. “See how they fly like pigs from a gun.” 🐷

Goo, goo, g-joob.
Save the time, hassle and expense and get this:

It's most certainly a step up from what you already have and it's already cryo'd. It's also the best price on the internet right now.

All the best,

Cryogenics International in Scottsdale Arizona has Cryo treated many parts including an entire amplifier for me. This is the company that Alan Kafton uses. There are some things not to cryo such as items that are glued with epoxy and some types of capacitors..

It certainly causes a sonic difference.

Well I sent in what I could reasonably take apart to NitroFreeze: Inlets from power amp & power distribution box (distribution box receptacles already croyed porter ports), copper wires in my power distributor connecting the receptacles, circuit breaker from power amp, 2 usb cables, ps audio outlet i’ve had for a long time, and the crimp terminated wires running from the inlet on my power amp to the circuit board. Should have back later this week. I hope everything survived and can get back to function. Will post after installed.

Remember it will take some time to rebreak in. Try to give the treated parts 2 weeks before a new evaluation/

When I installed Porter Ports (which are cryoed) into the power distributor, it was more like 6 weeks but it was a huge improvement, along the lines of upgrading a major component.
tomask6,
I replaced a couple of my receptacles with audiophile receptacles and was expecting a small improvement. I agree, huge improvement. LOL, I don't understand why but am enjoying it.
Everything got back safe from Nitro Freeze. Installed and singin’. At first pass sound is warmer, yet somehow the highs are a lot more vibrant, with greater soundstage depth yet less sibilant (Craig Chaquico Sacred Ground sounds like it never has before on this system.)

Will update again throughout the next cupla' months.
2 week update:  everything just sounds.....better. You name it, it's better.  Bass vertical imaging, electronic instruments sound more musical, voice definition better, highs are brighter yet smooth, darker silence.  I am still working up the nerve to cut the heat shrink off my nbs power cables to remove the plugs and have those cryoed. I will be sending in the speaker cables too.
Do yourself a favor. Send in the entire power cords for cryo. Everything is improved by cryo. Everything. You’ll thank me later.

You’re welcome in advance.

Geoff NitroFreeze says "no torqued assemblies" which includes anything screwed down.  I'm tempted to just send them in fully assembled.  What u think?
Geoffkait says send em in. To be safe loosen them slightly prior to shipping.
