Record Store Day 2025 List

I’ll pass.  I have at least 100 unopened vinyl records I bought over the years that I never opened or listened to.  Always meant to but  just too lazy now. 

Plenty of great titles there, but...

No shortage of clunkers though-

Jefferson Starship- "We Built This City"???

Ouch! 

Okay, I offended someone who liked that embarrassing period for the Airplane.

 Even GS didn't approve.

Not a RSD participant.

The Camper Van Beethoven is tasty, but wish it was spread across two slabs of vinyl.

@tablejockey - 'We Built This City' was not the Airplane of ANY period. That was Jefferson Starship; Jefferson Airplane was a San Francisco band.

No Jack and Jorma, no Airplane.

'We Built This City' is about LA.

And you are right, it is horrible...

"We Built This City" by Starship is often called one of the worst songs of all time. The song has been the subject of online polls and has been called the worst song of all time by Blender, GQ and Rolling Stone magazines.

Now that's an interesting bit! Hard to believe, in reference to the amazing early 70's Elton John catalog.

Perhaps B.T. was thinking-oh let's just put something together for some quick $$$?

@mofimadness thanks for the heads up. I found four gems that I am looking at, Dave Stewart Does Dylan, Ry Cooder The Main Point, Keith Richards and The X-pensive Winos and Warren Zevons Piano Fighter The Giant Years have all caught my eye. Enjoy the music

As usual, not one title of interest. I am looking forward in excitement for the VV and the Void "Elevator to the Unknown" finally out on vinyl! A dreamwave gem! Got it as a digital-only release in 2021 so really excited for the vinyl version!

And why is the OG B52s re-issued? Copies on discogs from $1.41, in NM/NM- from $10. Not too difficult to find in the wild. Such a waste of pressing plant capacity.
