Power cord for Bricasti M3

Any suggestions from Bricasti users for a nice power cord to compliment the Bricasti M3.  Price range circa 1000 dollars.

Thanks

I have not heard much difference with PC's on the M1. Regardless, using a Verastarr silver PC.

I think their dual power supplies and the isolation in the chassis really goes a long way to making it very quiet. Other impacts I cannot say. I've owned the M1 for more than 5 years. Stable performer.

I noticed a bump going from a Triode Wire Labs digital to an Audience AU 24 Se MP.

Just went with the top of the line Iconoclast XLR with the Bricasti M3. Will let it settle a bit before commenting. Early returns are favorable

I don’t own Bricasti but on 2 DACs (Bryston and Benchmark) the Audience AU24SE power cord was a huge improvement. I use AU24SE MP now on my Benchmark DAC 3 HGC. Audience will be really tough to beat.

@mdrone no but it’s a replacement for the AU24 SE. It should be at least just as good and most likely better.

One of the dealers suggested that in comparison to the new model, the AU24 SE was a bit "soupy" and slower in sound.

Have you all found the AU 24 soupy or syrupy?

I have never heard anyone use that word regarding any Audience product. Audience always made neutral/warm products until the Front Row, which some have criticized for being too forward. Looks like audience finally learned what Nordost knew for years. Sell hyper-detailed stuff to impress on first impression and get the sale.

Chayro, that begs the question whether the Studio 1 follows the newer sonics of the Front Row vs an evolution of their older sound.

AU24 SE power cables sound detailed and open. I wouldn’t worry about what dealer said to you. That’s not been my experience with Audience power cords or speaker cables. I also wouldn’t worry about Audience messing things up with the newer Studio One cables. They always seem to improve with newer models.

I am using the Siltech Classic Legend 680P on mine.  It is a superb combination.

While on cables, I bit the bullet on a 5ft  Iconoclast  4x4  UPOCCC XLR for the Bricasti M3 . Crazy money but worth every penny and the only interconnect in my system so I figured what the heck. If you audition try a 5ft pair. I tried a 3 ft pair of the same cable and could not get the same sound. Sent it back for the 5ft demo and all was well again. They send out their demos as 5fts so that must be the perfect length for the cable. Its a very stiff cable so you may need a little extra length anyways.

They have a no quabble money back( they even pick up return shipping as I sent back their top of the line speaker cables) Excellent company to work with.

This will get the best out of your Bricasti. The XLR's are said to sound a bit better than the Single ended outputs. I know it made a huge difference in my rig.

Yes I tried the AudioQuest Hurricane but ultimately went with an Inakustik.  The Hurricane had better bass but the tone and timbre of the Inakustik was much better. Both were good, but the Inakustik sounded more natural.

@benzman I have Acoustic Zen Absolute Copper connecting the M3 to preamp as well as preamp to amp. Sounds great!

@mdrone which inakustic? The 2404 Air?

Also, I’ve been running my M3 with the Linear 0 filter engaged this whole time. Last night I popped it into Minimum Phase 1 and was pleasantly surprised. Bigger soundstage and fuller without sounding dark or overly warm.
What filter did you find to sound best?

So mine is running strictly thru Ethernet. It seems I may be upconverting  red book as using the DSD filter. Just sounds much more open and transparent than the PCM with either filter.

@benzman

I’m also running Ethernet direct into M3.
Roon Core on Mac Mini that is located in another room.
My settings on M3 are Minimum 1, NDSD DSD.

Pretty sure the filters are just for PCM  conversion as the manual states

When selecting NDSD DSD setting, the DSD post noise filtering is done in the analog domain so there are no DSD filter settings. An artifact of DSD processing is the buildup of ultrasonic noise and with DSD 64; this noise starts at 24 kHz and rises to peak level at -50 dB at 50k and beyond. In the M3 set to NDSD DSD this filter is implemented with a simple low order low pass analog filter for the very best sonic performance

Sorry. I play everything NDSD DSD.  So I guess it is upconverting flac and wav files.
with no remote I am not getting up to change setting for different file types.  NDSD DSD just seems to work

I've tried a few different ac cords on my M3 and have settled on an Audiomica Callisto Ultra over  PAD or Cardas. Very musical, clean and natural sounding.

I have AQ Tornado on the way. It’s either going to end up on M3 or on my preamp.
